Somebody need to take that bot out back and shoot it, because it either needs to be fixed or Youtube needs to start talking to their content creator. YT basically has become to big to fail and creators are suffering because of they're ignoring to fix the problem.
There would be so much less frustration and confusion around the whole thing if YouTube were just honest and open. I can't see why they need to be so cagey about making information public.
I really don't understand why they don't show those hidden ratings.
this has nothing to do with them being a friendly and open company that's honest about what they're doing
They don't give a damn about you or anyone but the ones that make them big money. If you aren't their special boy or girl you don't matter. They aren't so much "Not open" as they are "not giving a single fuck"
due the their own "risk" of them being abused.
The only remotely good reason they would have is that they want to prevent exploitation of the ratings system by obscuring it, but then we loop right back around to asking why the fuck we have Youtube "Heroes". They put too much faith into their shitty algorithms and bots.
this is what happens when your entire business model relies on AI making the decisions that humans should be making
I'm genuinely confused because with more open communication, I think most people would agree such a bot is the right move for YouTube as a whole and further user input and feedback can only make the machine learning even more accurate, right? Like YouTube has nothing to lose by just creating a user interface with the bot. Everyone is begging to simply be told what their videos get rated but this system could be so much better if users were more properly integrated, both on the creator's and viewer's side.
Yikes, well this is gonna be interesting to see how youtube reacts
youtube obscures that they rely on AI so much because they don't want to reveal they're entirely run by AI
Youtube rewind is actually edited by an AI.
