When did this surveillance footage come out? I'm glad its finally come to light but I can't help but wonder why it wasn't released sooner.

This is chilling to watch. The immense amount of time leading up to it he dedicated simply moving around weaponry and gambling at incredibly odd hours. Around familiar faces, no less. I pray I never find out myself to what extent the human mind can break and give way to such actions of horror.

Maybe he was secretly hoping that he'd get busted before the festival, and thats why he just kept bringing more guns? Who knows.

I assume to be able to swap weapons when one is out of ammo to get back to firing much quicker but.. reloading is so incredibly easy and fast with an AR so that doesn't 100% answer the question.

He was also a gun fanatic, I think he just wanted to give them all a "last hoorah" by killing live targets, as disturbing as this might sound.

Seems like the vast majority were AR15s which doesn't exactly narrow it down. Probably not worth publishing any more info about them.

The gambling is perhaps the strangest part. One cant help but wonder had he, say, hit the jackpot and won millions, that he might have not gone through with it. Maybe he was giving himself an out, a low-probable world where he wouldn't commit such horrible and inhumane violence, so he wouldn't have to take ownership of the atrocity he was about to commit.

He was already rich, that wouldn't have made any different. Especially not with that much planning and prep.

Maybe it's just a lot easier to point out after the fact, but don't roomservice keep tabs on, and routinely check in on rooms? I know (at the hotel I work at, at least) if someone kept a Do Not Disturb sign on a door for a week straight, whilst bringing in 20+ luggage bags, someone would have noticed and gotten suspicious. Maybe just harder to notice given how large the hotel was.

In the video it says he only hung the Do Not Disturb sign and turned away housekeeping on the last day.

I wonder if we'll ever figure out a movie. I can only hope.

At that point, I think he was just passing the time until the festive reached it's climax. He knew exactly how his plan was going to go down, he was never leaving the 32nd floor alive.

The fact a human being thought of. "Hey i'm going to slaughter dozens of people cause who cares..." Disturbs me. I believe Humanity is capable of great things, but goddamn... it can go to some dark places...

For such a major event, it really seems like we know nothing about it at all. I'm sure in ten years we'll get a heavily redacted government report that tells us nothing new. Like all terrible events, like this one, it'll be interesting to see what measures are put in place in terms for hotels & outdoor urban festivals.

Entire governments have decided to wipe out specific ethnic groups before. Honestly, mass shooters are small time compared to what really goes on in the world. Just look at present day things happening in North Korea or Syria. Iran has been known to execute rape victims for "adultery" while given the rapist just lashings. The world is a fucked up place. Those of us living in stable countries that occasionally have loons do mass murder is nothing in comparison.

Yeah i know that. Im mostly speaking of the current context of the situation atm.

This guy I know kept trying to convince me this was a conspiracy. Those windows can't be broke, the gun fire has an irregular patter cannot be from one shooter, how'd he get all those guns into the room, all the vegas cameras and no good looks at anything, ect. It comes down to people really want to believe that the 58 people who were killed were part of a giant plan that's bigger than all of us. When in reality they died cause a guy went crazy.
