Just venting, but i think it would be great that if your in a clan and one person knows a blueprint for lets say a steel pick. That when they go to craft it at the workbench the blueprint gets saved to that workbench so everyone in that clan (Assuming they don't have that blueprint) can still craft it because its saved to the work bench. I just think that would be pretty useful.
The thing is that when any one of a clan gets a blueprint or something that can be researched the clan would pool its scrap and "research" that object and create another blueprint then repeat the process till all the clan had what ever it is. But in a clan you could designate players as 'resource managers" and they would process the ore/gunpowder/blueprints for the clan Following your suggestion would make it too easy for players to temporarily join a clan just so they could obtain all the clans (already learned) blue prints then leave the clan and go solo
worst suggestion ever...
that would be SOOO OP
Most new players coming into the game aren't going to be in a clan. This inherently makes the game even harder than it already is for someone who is just starting out, and for solo players in general. I think the blueprint system is fine the way it is, but I do think that scrap should be used in the crafting process as well, because as it stands once you get all the blueprints you want/need, there's really no need for scrap. It would also make it so that larger groups would still need to gather scrap in order to keep their weapon stockpiles full.
