To determine if ratings affect (accelerate) Coin / XP gain, I've begun to conduct this research! If you rate my post diamond I'll give you a coin. I'm not doing an experiment or anything, it's just out of the goodness of my heart.

I'm just wondering how coins are even gained I got 15 for linking my FP account, since then I've made.. three? posts, gotten two ratings, nothing else that I know of has been done, and I've gotten four coins.

I really doubt this is a thing.

I think time is be largest factor. I'm the one paying the coin here, but we'll find out! I'll try to jot down some daily statistics starting tomorrow to spot consistency.

Even if there is one I would be guessing it as every other thing that affect coin gain is timed, so getting rated every couple hours might do something but getting rated tens times in minute nothing really.

Let's start small and see if there is any increase to begin with

Before migration it was coin per post with 6 hour delay between if I remember right.

I'm interested in the results, I seem to gain coins at a very slow rate yet people keep saying that you make enough coins for a background in about 4-5 days...

I got a lot of ratings for one of my posts recently, and I've been gaining coins quite quickly since then. Maybe that's why? Or I'm just spending more time browsing the forum as I get more used to it.

I kinda wish things were a bit more transparent about how/why coins are given out

It's just fun somehow, we don't think it changes anything about the level. Somehow he( @zeromancer ) had given me a diamond for fun and now we swap as back and forth :D

Level 19 - 91% (+10%) [Expected daily gain ~8%] Coin 275 - 75% (+4 daily) [Expected daily gain ~3] This might look strange, but I've made 13 posts and 1 thread yesterday, furthermore my posts also received modest amount of ratings. I can't be certain about this spike, it seems obvious that XP and Coin update in irregular ticks, so it is unsure if measuring in daily intervals would be a good idea. Nonetheless, I will conclude that it is unknown if rating actually affects XP / Coin, but beyond accounting for absurd amount of ratings, it does not have any significance. ........Now, periodic posting affect XP? I'll check on this on another time.

If it makes a difference, I received a coin just for reading threads.I didn't post all day and still got coins.
