Should be included in a film about an unjustly imprisoned blacksmith who was forced to work with aluminum foil when in prison, and there would be two more helping dudes who would fasten armor as well as a crossbow.
glorious nippon aluminum
folded 1000 times
What do I see there?
A step-to-step tutorial on how to create a knife out of aluminium foil?
I don't know about you guys, but this sound like a pretty scary knowledge to posses.
I say we ban the OP, this knowledge might soon be as dangerous as the knowledge of pigeonshit moonshine.
That aluminum dust can't be good to have just floating around in the air... and especially in the kitchen...
I know this is meant a joke reply but it is way cheaper to buy a 5 bucks knife.
Those whetstones are expensive as fuck, especially if you buy as many as that guy has.
There are cheap ones but the ones in the video don't seam cheap at all.
Always love watching people sharpen knives. Seems really satisfying.
Really nice craftsmanship, but if I recall correctly aluminium is a pretty bad material for knives. It loses it's edge very fast and I think the rust can be dangerous.
I'm still amazed at the work, I know he didn't do it for the result but for the experience.
You know, I don't think making a proper knife is his main focus with these videos, unless he plans to mass produce pasta knives

This guy's channel HOLY FUCK
He made a knife out of PASTA
Hey. Hey you. You right there with the bad joke: making a knife isn't illegal.
whetstone? more like wet stone
You should research that. Making moonshine isn't illegal. Making moonshine in certain quantities is illegal because it demonstrates intent to distribute without paying taxes. Also, if you're going to be distributing, you have to go through all of the ATF paperwork and registration. Other than that, making moonshine is perfectly legal for personal use.
It's federal law. You can produce wine. You can produce beer. You can't produce spirits without a significant amount of paperwork and so forth having been filled out. It's not even about distribution; it's about production.
(1) Unregistered stills

(7) Unlawful production, removal, or use of material fit for production of distilled spirits
except as otherwise provided in this chapter, makes or ferments mash, wort, or wash, fit for distillation or for the production of distilled spirits, in any building or on any premises other than the designated premises of a distilled spirits plant lawfully qualified to produce distilled spirits, or removes, without authorization by the Secretary, any mash, wort, or wash, so made or fermented, from the designated premises of such lawfully qualified plant before being distilled; or
(8) Unlawful production of distilled spirits
not being a distiller authorized by law to produce distilled spirits, produces distilled spirits by distillation or any other process from any mash, wort, wash, or other material; or
[...] shall be fined not more than $10,000, or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both, for each such offense.
Though, yes, there is a tax component to it as well.
§5602. Penalty for tax fraud by distiller
Whenever any person engaged in or carrying on the business of a distiller defrauds, attempts to defraud, or engages in such business with intent to defraud the United States of the tax on the spirits distilled by him, or of any part thereof, he shall be fined not more than $10,000, or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both. No discontinuance or nolle prosequi of any prosecution under this section shall be allowed without the permission in writing of the Attorney General.
(Added Pub. L. 85–859, title II, §201, Sept. 2, 1958, 72 Stat. 1400 .)
Yep, you're right. I was going off of what has been told to me for the longest time. Carry on.
Also the fact that there's no federal regulation on it's quality. because you know, you have to cut the first part of moonshine because its literally poison if you consume it. Also the fact that most of country moonshine is made in billy bob's shed in the woods with sometimes creek/spring water, doesn't help make it seem clean or sanitary in the slightest.
I'm not sure a lot is going to survive going through a still to be perfectly honest.
Making balls and knives out of aluminium foil is one of the latest fads in Japanese youtube channels. Just search for アルミホイル and sort by newest video.
Imo I'd be more afraid of a man wielding the sharp edged lid of a tin can.
But no one knows what happens after its out of the still, plus the still could have impurities, same with the water that can cause all kinds of different poisonings.
Banning foil because of one video??
Might as well ban all metals while you're at it.
Then you'd see people making shanks from plastic, it's almost never ending, the possibilities are endless.
But yet, people complain. Always the fun police aye?
Seems foil grills too? They pop in here and there and it makes me wanna curl into a small ball that can be polished. Foil on teeth, yuck
Someone needs to let Gabe Newell know this channel exists.

I don't get what's so hard to understand. Strictly regulating who has access to aluminium foil and making sure it doenst fall into the hands
of LITERAL LUNATICS will prevent billions of school stabbings yearly. Don't be so egoistic to prevent progress and the saving of lives just because you wanna wrap your snacks in your back yard or "protect yourself" against tyrannical aliens. Smh, we don't need everyone to have access to dangerous assault knives.
when will primitive technology reach the aluminum age?
His rocks are already sharp enough.
Ummm.. Sorry, What?
You're assuming a lot here. I'm not being egotistical at all, I'm not the one that turned this thread into some political statement.
A guy makes videos of making kitchen knives out of different things. It's interesting. It was never implied as "I made a Dangerous Assault Knife". Just Kitchen knife.
Let's not get carried away here, I'm not saying what you have pointed out isn't an issue, you do have a good point.
I was pointing out that a lot of things in this world are dangerous, we can't just assume everything is bad and live in a bubble.
Preventive measures? Sure. But outright propaganda against things we use in normal day lives? That's what I was pointing out.
There are more effective ways to deal with these issues. Like you said, regulating access. All you had to say was that.
Like say banning pasta because someone made a knife out of it? That's the sort of thing I was pointing out which is taking things a bit too far IMO.
Lunacy on the other hand, that's another thing entirely.
