With the introduction with the new chainsaw. I think I have a great idea. A Jack Hammer. Same purpose as a chainsaw except used for stone. it could run on low grade like it. level 2 workbench and need 150 metal 3 blades 6 pipes or something like that. Let me know if you think they should do this.
its an interesting idea - but the problem is that there is almost no similar use for the "jackhammer" - due to how resource nodes spawn. Chainsaw has a use - because you can actually use in on a forest spawn (10-15 trees spawned very close together in a cluster). However there is no such "spawn pattern" for mine-able resource nodes. The most I've seen is like 4 nodes together (metal/sulfur/stone), and using jackhammer just for the 4 sounds like a waste. Running around the whole map with a jackhammer and turning it on/off all the time sounds silly too (and a waste of time). The only place I can see it being used is in the upcoming "cave mining" feature, as seen on the Roadmap: Alternative Mining Use survey charges to uncover harvestable resources around the map as well as on cave walls.
Could be used alongside the mineable veins or it could be used to allow mining of stone from the currently large rocks that cannot be mined. It is rather silly that you can freely mine wood but you cannot do the same to rocks... on the contrary it feels like its simpler to find iron than rock...
