There's a petting zoo inside, 200 animals died in the blaze
40 of the 69 missing are children apparently :/
there are unconfirmed reports of 170 dead and 355 missing
Some new info which could explain all the missing children.
Initial reports by officials said the fire was being treated as arson and was believed to have started in the "trampoline room of a children's zone".
Deputy Governor Vladimir Chernov told local media a "preliminary theory is that one of the children had a cigarette lighter".
He said the fire in the foamed trampoline pool would have "flared up like gunpowder".
Also, the emergency doors were locked. Someone should be jailed
Witnesses claim there was no fire alarm, after the fire broke out and some 15 bodies were found near a locked emergency exit.
Many died from falling.
Horrified witnesses described how those inside jumped out of windows several storeys up to escape the flames
This shit always happens.
People are so fucking negligent in Eastern Europe.
I live in the neighboring city block, thought it was over, went to shoot the aftermath yesterday, but it wasn't and it's fucking horrifying. Never seen anything like that.

Fuck that's so awful.
God, that's just awful.
Not sure how people do their jobs in Russia but in Ukraine as a kid - I remember nobody gave a shit, everybody had this attitude of: "meh, I am sure its grand, someone else will take care of it", this fucking pure laziness and carelessness leads to disasters like this, pisses me off to no end.
That's our boys in MI6 doing their job.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
I do the fire safety checks for the supermarket I work in, from checking fire doors right through to testing the sprinkler system. A lot of it is boring, but having seen some of the videos and read about places going up smoke and leaving people trapped trying to get out it's something I never cut corners on, because I don't think I could live with myself knowing I had subjected someone to that. I hope they catch the people responsible.
This has nothing to do with Eastern Europe. It's Russia.
People ask me, "AA, what's your greatest fear." expecting something like sharks, or falling, or something like that.
It's not. It's being the victim of a tragedy that could've been prevented if someone had done their job properly. Killed by someone else's negligence. Killed because someone thought "Uggggh cba today." Maybe it's because I'm naturally very cautious and deliberate when dealing with things, whether they're a hot stove or something.
Things like what happened at this mall give me genuine nightmares and keep me up at night. So I wonder how, the people whose job it was to make sure all the fire safety regulations were met, will sleep at night knowing that their actions cost the lives of many innocent people, whose only crime was going shopping.
Apologies if this got personal and emotional, but I felt I had to say it.
That would be fucking disgusting
Unofficial information: 400+ people dead, most of them are children. Government tries to hide that number by forcing relatives to sign NDA before they can see bodies.
This is how many people was locked and died in cinema:

What an astoundingly disgusting thing to say in light of a tragedy like this.
Would you really put this past Moldova, Belorussia and Ukraine, tho?
My old school in Moldova had all the fire exits hammered with nails. Our fire drill was everyone going through the same front exit with a big pileup in the main hall waiting to get out.
I wouldn't be surprised if most public buildings would have the entrances locked out for some anti-thief/security measure.
Only case of good safety standards I've seen is a modern office building which would unlock all exit staircase doors electronically, but it's freshly built so can't expect the same level of all buildings.
Calls for authorities to resign as hundreds rally in Kemerovo, R..
Hundreds of people have gathered at the regional administration headquarters in the Siberian city of Kemerovo in the wake of the deaths of at least 64 people, including multiple children, in Sunday’s fire in a local shopping mall. The crowd is chanting “truth” and “murderers,” demanding punishment for those responsible for the negligence that led to the tragedy.

man in a blue jacket lost his entire family (three children, wife and sister)
I only know that in Russia and definitely in Ukraine things are done half-arsed way.
In Latvia too in many cases.
I have no reason to suspect that many other countries wouldnt have this issue either.
If this is true, good to know Russia hasn't changed that much since Chernobyl days.
Russian businessmen everyone, why give a shit about safety if you can save money on safety and buy a BMW or two
Apparently, all that movement about "300+ dead, goverment is hiding something" was started by Ukrainian prankster
Wall (you'll need a translator)
To be fair, causing something is not a problem for thickheaded people, in likes of those sitting in our government.
I acually remember old Reddit thread, where throwaway accounts addmited something awful. And there was a guy, who accidentaly forgot a rag in heating pipe, and caused 8 deaths. He managed to get it out before police noticed, and became a huge drunkard, because he still can't forgive himself.
