Hey,
First of all, my English sucks.
At the moment I only read threads that deal with this topic:
Why do I think Rust sucks for one reason or another..!
And I don't understand what this is all about. In my eyes these are all things that are incomprehensible to me.
Point 1: The scrap farm is too high
Why is it too high? Currently we play in a 2 month cycle in which the blueprints are deleted after the 2 months.
And I mean, you have two months to farm scrap and get the blueprints. After that they are gone again, now realistically seen: Do you need 2 months to get all blueprints, or do you even need all blueprints?
Honestly, I don't think you need all the blueprints. I, for example, will limit myself to a few. Revolver, Python, SAR,Beancan,Satchel,AK,Ladderhatch,Garagedoor,Roadsign Kit.
Maybe it is one or the other more, but in my eyes these are the most important when playing alone.
I will now only list the research costs:
Revolver: 75 Scrap
Python: 250 Scrap
SAR: 250 Scrap
Beancan: 75 Scrap
Satchel: 250 Scrap
AK: 750 Scrap
Ladder Hatch: 250 Scrap
Garage Door: 75 Scrap

Okey, now that sounds extremely much at first. Especially for players who have just started the game, this is a number that is really big.
But for players like me, who have been playing the game a little longer and understood what to look out for.
Can I tell you, that number is actually quite low.
I have in good runs, 600-900 scrap. And if I kill someone on the way back, then it can be more. I have also often lost 1000 scrap in inventory - High Risk, High Reward. And a run like that takes an hour at best. So if I have a really good day and play 4-5 hours, I sometimes have my scrap together on wipe day for all the important things you need.
And you know what? I think that sucks. Why? Because the wipe will become uninteresting within a few days, because at some point you will have everything you need.
Do you like games where you don't have to do anything for your progress?
I don't like such games, I don't like casual games, that's why I love Rust. Rust is not casual but challenges the player.
Point 2: The Upkeep System
Without the Upkeep System, the game would be a disaster - Imagine servers that only wipe once a month. There'll be buildings all over the place. You know what happens then? Your FPS goes to the basement, is that what you want? I don't think so.
Apart from that, the game shouldn't be played as often as Wipen at some point, have thought about it ;) ?
But what do we conclude from this?
You just have to think about how to build a safe base that costs little, and believe me - there are a lot of variations that are suitable for solo players and for players in large groups all the more.
Imagine yourselves for:
5000 stones
1000 metal
So that your base stands 24 hours. Honestly, what are these boring numbers? You know how fast you can get stones and metal. And do you need a base that takes ten times as much?
I don't think so.
I have things to do in this game every day! That's why I love Rust.
Point 3: The problem with cheaters
Yeah, we all think cheaters suck. But don't you think the developers don't realize that themselves? I don't think it's necessary to create 2-10 threads every day where everyone cries once.
I mean, I don't know any games where players aren't a problem. And currently I think every game has problems with cheaters. And now the argument comes back: Yes, but in other games the progress of 2 weeks is not lost.
Yes, that may be true, but in other games there are cheaters in the areas where people make money playing - do you think all the online tournaments run legally? Without a hacker out there? And it's partly about people who make a living out of it.
Believe me, even if it doesn't look that way to the outside world. The developers know that they currently have a problem with hackers - and I'm pretty sure they're already working on a solution. But you can't solve something like this overnight, so it takes time and the developers are not robots that work 24/7. They want to have fun with the family after work and or play a game.
That's it for now, I'm going to expand the post - I don't have that much time right now
Sorry to mention you @garry @Helk and the other developers too. YOUR GAME IS GREAT!
Well, you're quite right, but there's one thing right in the beggining which I can't agree on with you:
Why is it too high? Currently we play in a 2 month cycle in which the blueprints are deleted after the 2 months
Look how big percentage of players plays on 1-week/2-week full wipe cycle servers. But this is clearly our choice, so I can't blame you for that.
Okey, yeah. I can understand that. But, Facepunch doesn't have a 2 week fullwipe cycle on their official servers. That is why I do not believe that this can be taken as a measure.
We have to go by the settings that are official from the game, so I think it's really optimal the way it is now.
