Arrrgh I'm pretty much rock solid on the series familiarity and debugging management but have zero experience with the new consoles, or any kind of game development really. I hope whoever does it does a damn fine job, those games are absolute classics and demand preservation of mechanics. Don't inject Assault Horizon bullshit into them.

AC7 doesn't even have a release date yet... But I guess this at least confirms it isn't getting cancelled like some rumors suggested Also this news is actually huge. A current-gej remake of the holy Trinity (ESPECIALLY since the new engine means they will be released on PC) would be fucking HUGE for the AC fans out there. I still get out my PS2 and replay zero every once in a while.

It's possible it's just for AC7. The "Deep Knowledge" thing makes me feel it's for lore related reasons. I.E. "We can't have X Y and Z come back because if you read the bio thing in AC:Z they died but A and B can come back because their bio says they survived the crash when shot down" and so on. I do hope we get proper remasters, though.

I am so ready for this. Those games were fantastic. Ace Combat is probably my favorite video game series of all time.

Id kill to get more Razgriz action in HD. Emulating all the ace games fucks with it for some reason.

The Project Aces engine is really con the cutting edge of PS2 technology. Every computer I've tried it on has had completely different rendering issues in hardware or software, and none have done it perfectly, though my old Y500 with SLI 750 M's was closest by just having pitch black player planes in AC5. It kinda fit, tbh, especially when we switched over to being the Razgriz.

I've only played Ace Combat Assault Horizon and had lots of fun with it, though I've heard that lots of old fans of the series didn't like it because of it being different (which I can understand). I wouldn't mind trying these out to see what I've been missing out on.

You should try a proper Ace Combat game. Assault Horizon is kinda like a watered down crummy version that shows some hints of the greatness you're missing, so if you enjoyed AH then you'll really like one of the good ones.

Give it to me. I have my original disks even after my mom traded in the PS2. Those games were so important to me.

They actually emulate fine on the latest SVN version of PCSX2, you should try that.

AC04 is fucking nuts, you either get the textures working but the sun is a flat texture or you get the sun working and everything is like moss fleshy twitching about.

I really don't know how it's taken this long for it to be confirmed. I was thinking it would had been in the works Roughly the same time as AC7's development. Might as well throw 6 too. Bet we'll see something related to AC in E3 time.

4, 5 and ZERO Are called the holy trinity for a very good reason. If you enjoyed Assault Horizon then the holy trinity will practicality make your soul weep with joy If you can find a ps2, then you NEED to play them

Should be easy considering they have all of the high quality assesets of almost everything they need from 7 and Infinity, plus their engine

I still remember the time I picked up AC4 at Kmart. It still remains as a memorable game for me to this day.
