https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTd8xr9y5ig As much as I want to be excited for this, I've seen enough disappointments with the Japanese PC scene to know better.
Looks good but even with all that customization, I'm just going to use the Zeta
Time to make my own Gouf!
AAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH Please don't be shit. Please don't be shit. Please don't be shit. Please don't be shit. I've wanted this for quite a while but it's not worth buying an entire game console for just one or two games. If this ends up being awful for some reason, I'm going to be super sad beyond mortal words.
oh boy big zam
IIRC, Breaker is made by Ilinx, while Versus is made by Bandai Namco Studios. You're probably better off buying SoulCalibur VI if you want Versus.
Isnt this getting localised too? Breaker 3 was in full English but you still had to import it and that was more expensive than I'd want to pay for.
Oh fuck yes, I've put so many hours into Breaker 3
Oh suit customization is still in there, thank god They only showed the on the fly part switching for the longest time so I was getting worried
I love the levels that make it look like the actual figures are fighting. It's adorable.
I'm sure a lot of people like this, but is it too much to ask for a more realistic gritty gundam game? I'm really not particularly interested in light hearted gunpla fighting.
I have adore the fact that some maps make them all tiny.
I can see the reasons people would want to play some nightmarish kitbashing game. Could create some real fucking nasty suits with everything available after all. But from a cursory glance into the world of Gundam games there don't seem to be many that aren't crossovers with other series that follow more character stuff. I could just be horrible at googling mind. Kinda odd considering how fucking huge the anime series are in terms of fanbase.
They had a short stint back in the late 90's/early 00's where there were some more realistic options (Journey to Jaburo comes to mind), but otherwise it's been either fighter style or dynasty warrior spin off. Ontop of that almost all of them are "Jam every gundam from all the series" into the games for the sake of having all the gundams. I'd love to have a more realistic game that follows something like the 08th MS Team; limited in scope but rich in gameplay and story.
You'd be asking Sunrise and Bandai Namco Entertainment to work with western developers for a Gundam game. Heck, I can kind of see a grittier take on Mobile Suit Gundam be a new Games Workshop tabletop game to compliment Warhammer (40,000) and the licensed LotR/Hobbit game.
I've always loved Gundam games. Well, love/hate. Some of them aren't so good. The old school ps1 fighters are fun. The ps2 era is hit or miss. I played almost every gundam game released in america on consoles up to the ps2 era, I think. The last one I really played was Encounters in Space and that game was great, had a ton of content, and kept it focused on universal century story, while at the same time including some extra universe suits for fanservice (mostly for multiplayer modes I think). So it's obviously possible to do a realistic UC gundam game. Maybe it'll happen. I've never heard of the breaker series before this thread though, I kinda dropped off gundam later in life, but I can say for sure this looks like a way better game concept. I love the idea of them being model kits so scale is arbitrary and it's essentially a cooler version of toy story, plus the maps look way more creative as a consequence. And honestly it's a better business concept. It more directly relates to the toy and model lines that have been a staple of the franchise since inception. It makes more sense to incorporate that into a game than trying to recreate the anime in-game because the anime already exists, just go watch that if that's what you want. It seems like much more fun to bring to a game the dumb scenes that a young kid might imagine while playing with gundam toys.
Yeah I know. A man can dream though.
For anyone curious for a better look at how the Breaker series plays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55HaxBAOivw
I wish for the same thing. For a series rooted in being anti-war, it's not right that most games based off Gundam are cartoonish and lighthearted. They need to make a Gundam game that not only takes its subject matter seriously, but also has the gameplay to match that tone. I think they should make up a whole new story for that game as well instead of just retelling one of the animes.
The running animation is a bit wonky but other than that I'm looking forward to it.
I have Gundam Breaker 3 for the PS4. It's a pretty fun game, but I barely play it since I need to sign into an alt account to get the DLC and all that. If anyone here remembers Custom Robo from the Gamecube, it's that plus deeper customization. I feel like that's the best way to describe it. Don't expect a deep story line or anything too special. Most of the fights are similar but occasionally you'll fight a massive enemy (which it looks like they're branching out to MA's and ships this time around). The battles can get pretty hectic at times and you'll usually just button mash to get through them. The customization is the best part by far. Collect the parts as you go along or buy kits (the actual model kit of a suit you want in game, that most likely exists in real life) and use the parts from those. It encourages mashing parts together. It's a fun game for what it is and I'm for sure getting it for PC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgwCCcQkBiE
I fucking loved Custom Robo so I have no qualms with this. And yeah, I was mostly praying for the PC port to not be awful.
Well, you'll almost certainly love it then. It is UE4 so that gives me hope that it'll be good. I'll probably get the special edition one that comes with the kit because...why not? https://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/New-Gundam-Breaker_2018_03-26-18_015.jpg
Isn't that that one Gunpla that appeared in the Gundam Build Divers prologue? But just.. translucent. Looks neat either way.
I think. I don't really watch too much of the shows. I'm really only into Thunderbolt, G Gundam, and a little of Unicorn. I'm in it for the cool robot designs.
Yea that's just a special translucent release of the model, they also have the normal version. Bandai loves their special edition models and Premium Bandai models.
Don't remind me https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kczEbKNvPV4/WrQ6VXgXtiI/AAAAAAAG5Bs/pXKi6UPUO0Qr0D83Ta4FDojAU-3w3fZ8ACLcBGAs/s1600/hguc-woundwort%2B%25282%2529.jpg
Didn't work out for SAO: Fatal Bullet so well. I mean, it's playable but the AI is tied to framerate and it has mouse accel forced on.
We finally get a woundwort kit and it's p bandai... I don't think I've ever been as mad with a kit being a p bandai exclusive as with the woundwort being one
Oh greeeaaattt I actually ordered two. I have the CuteCube 1/100 and it's a nightmare.
