Schlitterbahn Co-Owner Arrested Related to Boy's Death

The co-owner of New Braunfels-based Schlitterbahn, Jeff Henry, was
arrested Monday on charges related to the death of Caleb Schwab,
a 10-year-old boy who died on a Kansas water slide in 2016.
Cameron County online records show Henry is facing numerous charges, including murder and aggravated battery.
Henry's arrest comes days after a 47-page indictment was released that
alleges executives with Schlitterbahn knew of the problems with the
water ride called the Verruckt. It was the tallest water slide in the
world when it opened in July 2014.
The indictment stated executives ignored issues with the ride in order
to get it running before their competitors, and to be featured on a
reality TV show.
The ride has remained closed since August of 2016 when Caleb was killed
after his water raft went airborne, decapitating the boy.

i already have a hard time trusting waterslides after that story of razorblades and needles being put into one
You can think what you want about Schlitterbahn, but when it comes down to it, it's the hottest, coolest time in Texas and this is a real club banger

Some kid got his head chewed off by piss poor ride design, and it's cocky creators tried to hide it from us. This really isn't the time for playing with nostalgia.
The twitter chain reads like a disaster that was waiting to happen..

It starts off ( kind of but hardly ) gentle, but then 2015 comes the heavy shit. Neck pain(s), whiplash all of which comes to a head in 2016 where things start to become broken, until..
All this for a television slot and some bragging rights, I hope they're happy..
I'm sorry I wasn't at all trying to negate away from the horrible tragedy that this "amusement" waterpark was, just bringing up the arguably decent theme song before it fades into obscurity forever because the park is very likely to be rightfully shut down for the Final Destination-esque disaster that it is.
I remember reading up on many articles about this when the death first occured two years ago. Reports from the family and witnesses, pictures of the blood spilling down the slide... it was a gruesome, horrible tragedy and the assholes responsible for creating the deathtrap that it was unquestionably deserve jailtime. I apologize for seeming insensitive, I just was trying to cope with humor rather than think about how horrible all of this was and relive it again.
This will be an interesting case to watch. It's recall correctly the boy's father was a well connected congressman. He should have no trouble finding a team capable of managing the civil side of things.
Hard to believe that they skirted by for so long. I saw another article yesterday talking about how they hired an entirely under qualified engineer to design the slide.
36. HENRY openly admitted that one of his principal motivations in building Verrückt was to flaunt his achievements in the faces of the other waterpark owners: "Hey guys, come on! Are you gonna let me have the bragging rights? Because I'm gonna brag a lot! We are the tallest ride in the world."
All this because he wanted to show off to his competitors. Arrogant tosspot. Hope he gets whats coming to him.
Congratulations are in order then: he created the world's tallest guillotine.
Now he can brag about his prison sentence.
