One of my favorite scenes and one of the few scenes that actually shows humanity in Doctor Who doing something that isn't sucking the Doctors dick like in later seasons.

Are you my mommy?
one of the few scenes that actually shows humanity in Doctor Who doing something great that isn't just sucking the Doctors dick like in later seasons.
Weird quote, considering that like the entire show before Smith's second season was very big on showing the conflicted humanity of the Doctor. Eccleston's season did it best imo, because his dark past and subtle vindictiveness played in really well with the down-to-earth-regular-personyness of Rose.
this video misses the best bit

YOU WILL FACE ME SIR
AAAAAAAAAAAAAaa
By Humanity I mean UNIT.
UNIT turns into a bunch of Doctor Who fanboys/girls in the later seasons, who can't do anything without The Doctor, they were grossly incompetent in the Moffat era.
Ah I read it totally wrong, like "humanity, doing something great etc etc" I guess bad reading rating exists again for a reason.
Anyway, you're kind of right, Doctor Who always subscribed to that whole Men in Black a person is great but people are awful thing.
i thought this whole episode was fantastic, only recently started actually watching doctor who and i can't believe i missed this shit for so long
go stab yourself 500 times with a blunt knife, moffat hating scum. i bet you hate clara and hell bent too
Can hardly be worse than Moffat, he quite literally turned the Sontarans into a joke.
they were already a joke. the story in the OP made them a joke
rusty's run had its share of silly moments, but it didn't quite make it feel like the world revolved around the doctor
while in moffat's run the doctor was literally space jesus and nobody was capable of achieving anything at all without him

TOTALLY NOT SPACE JESUS GUYS
i mean yeah it happened *sometimes*, but it wasn't the plot of every episode
there was even that one episode where he got wrecked for letting it get to his head
Considering the Doctor goes from UNIT's number one most wanted in like Season 3 to their fucking president, not just theirs but "Humanity's" president in Season 8, you're not wrong in the slightest. They've just ruined all of the built up world building in almost everything, UNIT, the Daleks, the Cybermen, the plastic dudes I can never remember the name of, the Sontauran, the Silurians, and dropped it all to focus on the Doctor and how lovely he and how everyone should be worshipping at his feet and those who don't are literally just jokes...
Whatever happened to Torchwood? I know that at some point after Doomsday Harkness started working for/with them, but they just dropped off the map after Tennant's run. I like them a lot more than UNIT and it's bothered me that we haven't seen them in a while.
i'd unironically like to see some kind of cleansing happen to people who prefer RTD to moffat
They all got wiped out iirc, and didn't exist by the time of Miracle Day. I don't know if they were brought back by Harkness in the Big Finish stories.
Torchwood by the end of Miracle Day was going to be Jack, Gwen and this new slightly boring American dude. But the show got canned because of "personal reasons" before they got a sequel, which is a little off because Miracle Day sort of ended on a cliff hanger with [sp]the random american dude becoming immortal[/sp]
