Airbus says UK participation in Galileo after Brexit is critical

Airbus has attacked attempts to freeze the UK out of the EU’s €10bn Galileo navigation project after Brexit, warning that British participation in European space programmes is critical to partnership on security and defence.
Tom Enders, Airbus chief executive, called on both sides to find a long-term solution to the row between Brussels and the UK over Britain’s participation in all space programmes. He urged the European Commission to rethink its proposal to exclude the UK from access to Galileo’s encrypted services or industrial participation after March 2019.

I can't see any benefit from freezing the UK out of it other than spite. Will they scrounge up the extra money needed?
