Ways to subscribe to threads and subforums without getting your email spammed?

I used to have myself subscribed to SH, Polidicks, and NN, but I reversed those decisions when my email was flooded with alerts I only wanted to see in the alert tabs on this website.

I'm thinking that I probably could've redirected the alerts that the associated email sends in to the trash, but it would be nice to know if there could be any efficient/built-in methods to disable these kind of emails. I only want to be emailed about alerts that really need my attention, such as if a moderator has to ask me about something.

I'm wondering though if it exempts "critical" alerts such as a moderator asking me about something, security warnings, or receiving a ban.

Make email alerts send links to posts not fucking embed them.
It even embeded all images within that post

90% sure this doesn't exist at all
