• Ideas for OP-specific thread features

I had a shower thought after realizing how many of the OPs in threads from Oldpunch still had lingering BBCode. Many people race to become OPs, but if a megathread lasts a while, it would be helpful if the thread maker could assign some other people editing permissions to help keep the OP updated. This helps in two ways; people who end up busy and can't watch their thread all the time can pass on the duty to someone who's more focused on the thread, and OPs stay more current if more minds are there to edit (in theory). Also, it would be neat to be able to temporarily pin a post to be visible at the top of each page if it's important. For example, since I'm the OP for the Nintendo megathread it would be great if I could make a post containing info about the next Nintendo Direct and maybe an embed of it, saving people some time. A pinned post should probably have its own hide button though if everyone is already on the same page.
"Edit History" would be a good idea too - so if someone's account gets compromised and they fuck with the OP and ruin it, you could easily revert back to an older OP.
iirc edit history used to be available for golds i will say this is a good idea, but i don't know if the database schema is set up to handle this sort of idea
Well since garry is custom writing this forum software 100% I'd assume pretty much anything is possible, just depends on whether he feels like it's worth the time to program/implement.
Garry doesn't seem to be a huge fan of megathreads, but this kind of feature would be useful for something like @Inacio and @diwako 's Awfully Dark thread. It's developed by multiple people, but only has one thread OP. There's other FP-user-made projects going on in various other places, like HL2: Community Edition, which I don't think has a thread yet, but if it did, it would be another example of a thread that could use a co-editing feature.
