Man the times today are fucking absurd
I can tell you any period of human history was anything BUT simple. Just the internet and mass media has allowed us to see and experience this shit.
$387,985 of $250,000 goal Raised by 9,009 people in 18 hours Damn
Just as I suspected https://i.imgur.com/smjR3XY.png
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
Watch as this funny meme gets features on Fox News or Breitbart as true. I wouldn't even be surprised at this point.
Not trying to imply that this is the case here, but this made me wonder. Where is the legal line drawn between 'donations' and money laundering? Is there something in place for that? Like if someone were to funnel massive amounts of money through a donation service like this, is there any legal recourse?
Literally happened in like season one or two of Breaking Bad
Saul paid a Russian botnet owner to funnel their drug money to Russia, and then back to Walter as "anonymous donations" for his chemotherapy. ... Makes you think..
https://i.imgur.com/lywYHhI.png jesus christ. i've joked before about how if trump tried to kick up a fuss over the costs of Mueller's special investigation fund that the guy could easily get the cost covered if they did a gofundme. i'm glad one of them finally did it, because the implications are pretty fucking huge. it's now sent a crystal clear message to the other people involved in the fight against trump that there's a very easy solution to getting the money they need, and there's a very big group of people ready and willing to help foot the bill.
I would give up several months earnings gladly toward a legal counsels bills if it meant dethroning the orange donny
Hell, I'm between jobs right now and I'd still toss $20 towards a Mueller Investigation GoFundMe.
god damn it surpassed half a million earlier https://i.imgur.com/wCYZxA8.png $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Lmao how many top tier lawyers can he afford now
The nice thing is that if you pledge more than $10 you get access to all of Mueller's evidence, and Comey and Mueller turn up in the discord quite often to shoot the shit. Sessions' testimony is "buttfuckin crazy" (only backers will know this meme)
not as many as you'd think. If not on a contingency fee basis, a partner at a local firm usually charges around $500 an hour (this covers much more than just the attorney's work - it also covers the expenses of a legal office, which are substantial). Partners at corporate firms charge up to $2,000 per hour, but these are massive practices based out of financial hubs dealing with multi-million/billion corporations. Assuming that he's going for a top-tier defense attorney, he's probably looking at an hourly rate somewhere between $1,000 and $1,500. So about 500 hours worth of billable work. Maybe get four or five to split the work out.
Btw CNN is reporting today that multiple sources indicate the OIG report says that McCabe was actually in the wrong and misled Comey https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/30/politics/mccabe-comey-fbi-report/index.html We might be in a difficult place where McCabe actually did fuck up and deserve to be fired, but the process was still inappropriately sped up by Sessions for political purposes
It's nonetheless in our best interest to keep his credibility as a witness if possible as he is nonetheless a key witness to what Comey has claimed. The SOP of this administration has been so far 'deny, defame, deflect'. They have denied and deflected on McCabe - which means defamation is up next. We need credible witnesses staffed in Mueller's barn. We need as many as we can get with this President.
