• Mod for FO4/MGSV-how important are the mesh details for NVG

Hi, I've been thinking about making a mod for MGSV, maybe also Fallout 4. The item i wanted to ask about was the NVG's. I didnt want to make a generic set so i decided to go with some AN/PVS-7 goggles. I wasn't able to find a 3d model of one for free that was already made/textured so i decided to make one from scratch and just approximate the size. I wanted to know though how important the shape of it is when you consider that its going to be on the front of your character. Also when it is in use the vision mode changes in game to the green/grainy look that NVG's have so video quality is reduced. So there's that to think about as well. The PVS7 has a few distinct features like the single lens in the front with varying diameters/dials, two eye lenses with rubber eye pieces, rectangular body, tube underneath for batteries and some dials and stuff on one side. There are a lot of minor details too like where the screws mount up, how the side opposite of the dials has some angled surfaces and stuff. In the pic below i didnt bother to model the minor details just the key features i listed before that. I wanted to know if the model would be good enough for in game or if i should focus more on getting the minor details right. Or if that would be pointless since you wont ever get close enough to notice those small details. Just a note the textures aren't final, i just threw a black diffuse color on there, put a transparent outer lens, and a glowing blue inner lens. The mounting hardware and head harness also arent what is normally used with the PVS-7. But when i looked at the actual harness and mounting stuff i knew it was going to be a pain to 3d create from scratch. And i'm not quite up to that level yet. https://i.imgur.com/Gqh8nPg.jpg
