Quoting myself from a recent thread: "I sincerely hope the coal industry and everyone attempting to defend it with lobbying and and frivelous lawsuits goes bankrupt as soon as possible. "
Ah taking the Russia approach, if we don't diagnose the problem then we have no problem.
Among the radiologists excluded by the law is Dr. Brandon Crum, who helped expose the biggest clusters ever documented of complicated black lung, the advanced stage of the fatal disease that strikes coal miners. How much more blatant can you be
Our state government cares literally nothing about the citizens whatsoever. Like, seriously, not even 1%, they're almost cartoonishly evil. Just a few days ago, a law tacked on to the end of a 200+ page sewer bill cut teacher's pension benefits, causing a mass call in and the shut down of over 20 counties, including the two largest ones that house Louisville and Lexington. Kentucky as a state is doomed unless we get the Republicans out and legalize marijuana, making it our cash crop again (hemp, but still) like it was hundreds of years ago before tobacco replaced it.
Yet again seeing shithead lawmakers/politicians taking stepsto prevent any recourse via the "legal" process - it does nake me wonder how long it will take before the same kind of militants that have cropped up before start pushing up again threatening to take these people to task and lynch them for acting against the interests of their constituents, especially since they're hurting a lot of such communities in the process.
and people want this industry to come back. Fucking Christ...
Fuck coal. We need a fraction of what we produce, and that's only to supply steelmaking and historic steam engines(Though increasingly those are getting oil fired, see UP's 4014 restoration).
