Yes it's an actual gamemode available in the game.
To be honest, this seems like a great idea. Would be awesome with a group of friends, and the addition of PvE leveling and looting... man.
I feel like Battle Royale deserves to move up from "flavor of the month" to just being a new "standard" gamemode. Kinda like how tons of games will include a capture-the-flag mode, or a team deathmatch mode, even if they aren't necessarily related to or in the spirit of the original "main" game. It's a simple gamemode to implement and it's applicable to tons of existing games, and its just fun imo. I'm happy to see lots of games including BR as an add-on gamemode.
There should be a battle royale game made out of other battle royale games and you choose what battle royale game you want to play as and fight other personified battle royale games
I wouldn't weep if "Battle Royale" replaced "Team Deathmatch" as the default MP mode in singleplayer with a slapped-on mp component.
