I dunno, I'm SS fan but Battle Roayle games are kind of stale by now. What do you think?
Wow, that is so cool.
phew that was close
checks calendar
yeah right
I wish
So this year's "in-joke" for April Fools is a bunch of game devs making BR modes.
nonspecific to this thread but i'd like to see a battle royale type game focused on melee weapons. maybe have some extremely rare guns, something like a oneshot musket or double barreled shotgun, but if the mechanics of the melee combat were close to chivalry, i think that'd be dope as fuck
Chivalry: Medieval Royal
Wow that is so cool!
A "we now have a battle royale mode!!1" prank would be a little funny if it was for a genre that it totally would not work for.
There was one called The Culling but despite huge success at first, the developers weren't able to decide what direction they wanted to take it, let alone get it to run decently on most computers.
It's a great shame, the game showed a lot of promise and the gameshow setting was interesting.
the sims: battle royale
is a game i would totally play, not joking
Very cool.
I clapped when they announced a new Serious Sam game, and clapped even more for the Battle Royale.
Whenever I think of The Culling, I think of Sovietwomble.

Well, even if it's an april fools, just pick the 1 life deathmatch mode, extend it to 100 players and make a huge map in serious engine, there you go
Sserious Sam is a franchise that hasn't been long enough for me to assume it's cancelled but also it's been long enough that I got so excited from the title before being ultimately just hurt at the end.
you mean kind of like serious sam?
Aren't they working on Serious Sam 4?
They released 5 Serious Sam games just last year, I'm not even joking.
It could actually work, a BR game with the retro fps emphasis on speed and mobility kept on by games like Serious Sam and TF2 could be interesting.
I don't quite get the hate for BR games, there really isn't that many of them and it's pretty cool that we are getting serious FPS/TPS games with such high player counts.
If you don't like them, just don't play them? Maybe we should all start bitching about RPG's because they've been making them since forever?
Fortnite is pretty fun. It helps that it gets a lot of developer attention
They honestly fucked The Culling up so badly. It started off okayish and it slowly improved a bit, and then it just went massively downhill when they tried to overhaul shit.
They didn't get the permission. I made this pic by editing the Serious Sam HD Gold cover art. You would know that if you read the bottom of the pic.

Confusing my Aprils Fools picture to official Croteam made is one of the nicest unintentional compliments I ever got.
the ship?
imagine fortnite-style frantic build-offs where each person constructs a pool and removes the others' ladder
