Why cannot I place the exact same floor on the exact same place where I had already built?
Tight base secondary exit in the back, on a sort of ravine. Under the door there is a half wall, the only thing I could build there. Level with the door there was a triangle that allowed access.
After a failed raid on this spot, thought about adding a few doors, so I built the walls on the right and twig half wall on the left, pickaxed the floor triangle, and found to my horror that I cannot place the floor level with my door. Not even half floor down. Had to build and place that repair bench to hop in and out...
Weird. Why?

The repair bench collider is preventing you to build, destroy it.
I put the repair bench there AFTER (read my post) having tried every option short of knocking down those walls (well I did pickaxe one down).
There are a lot of placement errors that cannot really be explained, you can have a level area of land and when you place your foundations you find that some can not be placed, there are no rocks, trees or dips in the ground but impossible to place, Its something you have to live with and work around , Sometime its the position you are in when you want to place the wall/floor , try moving around the area (maybe underneath) and see if it "catches" . Have had the same problem with High External walls linking them together,
yes - high externals are a major PITA...
I've found with Build 3.0 that after placing walls and ceilings, if an existing foundation is taken out it can't be replaced. I don't have an answer why, only that I've struck it quite a few times, really frustrating.
