I can now assume direct control over simpletons.
Playing around with different scenarios while failproofing my AI system.
Why are they hasidic jews?
No particular reason.
I needed to few functionalities to be tested in this scenario:
3 types of simpletons: one normal, one (rich golden hat), and some greedy ones (black hat)
Some physics object on a model
Killing of a simpleton
Dropping valuables
Valuable has score that's evaluated differently by all 3 types
Valuable defines what a simpleton should do with it ( think sims-like need-based system )
The simplest thing to make was a coin, the greedy ones already had a hat and I needed a theme.
So while making it I had the idea to follow that stereotypical "greedy jews" trope and added those sidecurls with physics.
It's not exactly something I'm envisioning in my idea of a game, but rather a test case for some of my systems.
Although, I would like to know something: is it more offensive than funny?
"No particular reason".
Moments later...
"Haha they are greedy jews! It is funny right?"
Uh yeah not really very funny at all, just pointlessly offensive and serves no purpose other than being crass. Are you going to add some black people chasing after fried chicken while you're at it?
Its your project so you can do whatever you want, but being racist and having the humor of an edgy teenager is pretty lame, so unless that is your demographic you should seriously consider changing it, and re-evaluating your sense of humor while you're at it.
My apologies if it offended you.
The internet has definitely ruined my humor over the years, I can't deny that.
It's kind of hard to tell what's acceptable or not these days.
One will find it hilarious despite being jewish, and another one will try to kill me for even thinking of such thing :/
I did not expect that haha. In general jews seem to be way more accepting with the whole stereotype joke than other minorities. Person above was either trolling or he's a minority jew.
Neither, but nice try. I guess expecting people to stop perpetuating offensive stereotypes makes you a troll or a "snowflake" or something? It's a shame that people think that way.
