• Suggestions that could make Rust a little bit better place

Hello, I'd like to share my observations I made through a long period of playing the game (over 1.6k hours), that, in my opinion, could make Rust a better place for us all. I'll be glad if you share your opinion on my suggestions in the comments. Seeds attracting animals I'm not quite sure if it was a bug, or a function, but there was a time when you could drop any seeds or water bottle on the ground, and it would attract animals which would come, and eat it. I don't know if it was a bug or if it is broken right now, but I think it would be really helpful if this has returned, since sometimes finding an animal can be a real hell. Trash pile refreshing Curse the people who leave scrap in road crates or red barrels in trash piles. When many people does this, it results in roads full of useless stuff which no one wants. I haven't noticed if the whole trash pile just respawns after some time, but I think if facepunch made it that the trash pile would refresh only the resources it's missing, it would make things so much better. For example to refresh just a 2 barrels, or 1 item inside the not-fully-looted crate. Faster tree growth or ability to plant trees This is clearly my personal statement, but I prefer to live in the forest. Nothing can irritate me more, then if anyone comes and cuts the whole forest in a few minutes. The trees have to growth several more real-time days. I think it could benefit many people if we were able to plant our own trees, or if they simply were growing up faster. More rivers/adding waterfalls I've seen the new upcoming water mechanics overhaul, and I think it would be wonderful if we used it, and added more rivers, waterfalls or deep lakes. I'm not sure what happend to the rivers tho, but each map I play on since introducing the water well monuments, has got 1-2 small rivers, which I think is a shame.
I certainly remember using seeds to attract animals. It was really cool to find a host of animals at your door where you dumped some pumpkin seeds. Horses, stags and boars munching away with wolves & bears attacking them. I don't remember the last time I found a carnivore munching on a corpse either. I vaguely remember a commit saying animals to ignore food for server performance reasons. After that these sort of things stopped. Frequently seen junk piles despawn of their own accord regardless of whether any of the barrels or crates have been looted or not. I wish partially farmed nodes & trees would do the same, I've F7 suggested it a lot. It'd be great to be able to grow saplings and plant your own forest. Farming i.e. growing from seeds is shown as needing an overhaul on the road map. Perhaps when thats done planting trees could be added. When the proc gen algorithm was changed to fit the most number of monuments on the map as possible, it came at the cost of rivers which are a source of food as much as water. I do hope they look into this again, especially with boats coming into the game. Waterfalls would be great. Especially with the chance of a cave behind it that you can build in. Maybe not in a snow biome tho, LOL.
Oh I'd love to have one in the snow! RIP raiders...
@captainrussia true.

I dont understand what you mean by this ?, Rust io has continued to work well with all the changes that have been made to the game so far, If you do manage to be able to build a base behind a waterfall in a snow biome you would have to make sure that you have a fire handy at all times,
