Panic! always had really good music videos afaik
The videos for their more recent albums have been really funky, like the first person shape shifting tentacle monster video. Brendon Urie's got the vocal range of like, an entire choir too. Dude's talented.
I got into Panic! a little after their last album came out, and did a lot of retroactive listening, and I love him. I hate to say it though but I was really unimpressed with the music video for Say Amen. The ninja-fighting choreography was really cool, but to see it build up him hooking up with some girl felt like a let-down of creativity. I did get a kick out of the high note being triggered by the nut-shot, that was kind of funny. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the album, though.
I was onboard for Death of A Bachelor, some of the songs were meh, but there were def a few bangers and I felt it was overall strong. Idk yet about this new album though, Silver Lining doesn't do it for me at all, and this one is alright I suppose. Guess I'll just have to wait and see, maybe it will be like on Vices and Virtues where the the bulk of the real good stuff was bonus tracks.
I haven't listened to these guys in a long time, they sound even more like Fallout Boy than they used to yet paradoxically also more unique than they used to.
How so?
I don't know, to be honest. I can't really elaborate. I always kinda liked them but they really reminded me of Fallout Boy. They still do now, they're creative and different enough so that I don't mind so much?
They are in the category of being poster children for "Pop Punk," so there's that. Some similarities are definitely to be found, but I thought you were meaning more beyond that. Panic! always felt noticeably flashier since their 3rd album to me.
Could be how Panic and Fallout Boy were known for being those scene kid/emo core music people. Generally sounding the same kinda like how all grunge, hair metal,alt-rock,so forth bands sound very similar. But they sound the same but have their own sound and style at the same time. Right?
Aside from their first album which is still a godly unique creation if you ask me, you're absolutely right and since the two forming members left they've definitely been a bit... generically unique if that makes any sense.
