I thought about changing the title to something less clickbaity, what do you think?

I was considering RGHing my 360, but apparently Zephyr models are difficult to do that hack on compared to Falcon/Jasper models and I dont feel like picking one of them up just now. I have the DVD key extracted and the drive flashed though
I need to buy another 360 and mod it. There's a ton of games with DLC that I can't buy anymore because they took everything off the xbox store.
Is it really piracy if there is absolutely no way to buy the content anymore?
im not sure if its considered abandonware at that point but at the same time i cant think of what else it might be considered
yes
Yes, but no one cares.
Can you even mod the latest version of the Xbox 360?
the E models aren't moddable, as is the final revision of the S model (codenamed Winchester iirc).
Eh, the 3DS can do all of that in terms of emulation and has more that I want on it than a 360.
when i wanted to buy a 360, i was annoyed that there were ton of modded consoles. i simply want a unmodded one so i could play the games i want without risking my xbox live account
I'm the same with the original. I just want to buy an original XBOX that isn't modded.
Can you do lan between modded consoles?
Yes. You can do lan between modded and unmodded consoles too.
Yeah, 360 still had a lot of games with LAN support.
Back in 2009-2010 it wasn't all that popular though. Even games like Halo 3 didn't have more than. 100-150 concurrent players in services like Xlink
I'd mod the 360 simply to have the ultimate LAN/local splitscreen machine.
Besides the PS3 is also piss easy to hack with USB hacks.
I'm already suffocating under the sheer volume of titles being released that I wanna play/ogle at. Kinda sucks since the 360 does have a genuinely amazing backlog to play but I barely have time to play own ass-ton of retro games and I'm already considering selling them. Thanks but no thanks.
I still don't get it. If I want a dedicated machine just for emulation, wouldn't I be better off getting a cheap PC for that purpose? Or just use my PC in the first place
Publishers own the rights to the product and that's that. There's more money to be made if customers have to buy new games as they come out.
This is why we are seeing this 'games as a service' model because games can be killed off the moment they stop being profitable, rendering such clauses useless.
