It would be very convenient to have a "Clear" button that just nukes the text box of all content and formatting in the event that the person posting decides to change their mind without having a draft for that thread saved, or if someone doesn't want to make that thread anymore half-way through typing out the OP, or if something broke and they just need to start over (again, without having a draft saved.)
Alternatively, allow CTRL+F5 to clear your post draft for whichever thread you're in.
+1
It is clear that we need a clear button.
It really presses my buttons that we do not have one.
The problem I have is on my android mobile device I cannot backspace to remove quotes and @ mentions. The only way to me to clear the box is to delete the local storage which is lameoid
oh I remember me suggested this and someone just came in "just Ctrl+A Backspace it isn't difficult"
hope this gets considered and implemented eventually
Yeah, you can't delete some formatting like quotes and code on android, it's a pain in the ass.
make a userscript to XSS attack garry into pushing an edited website template to his github with a clear button added to it
facepunch droid has userscript support
There should be the ability to see the bbcode. this WYSIWYG is really annoying time to time
There isn't bbcode anymore, if you want to see what the raw post looks like click the little arrow next to the posts country of origin and select "toggle code view".
Here are some formating examples"

@HighVoltage
It doesn't use bbcode or markdown, its utilizing its own system Quill which isn't tag based at all, if you actually look at the posts by viewing the code (dropdown on the right of the post, toggle code view) and you will see what the posts are constructed out of.
It is not possible to give tag control with this system as it was never designed to.
Its a WYSIWYG editor from design, you're not meant to have anything more than what it gives you.
I do miss the thumbnail option for images though. nothing easier than [t]image[/t]
