I'm so glad Spyro doesn't look like a gremlin and that he's retained his old look. Hopefully this gets the same Steam/Switch treatment as the Crash remakes.
no ninty lego at the end, just xbone and ps4 https://puu.sh/zWOgP.png
What do you want it to look like? I personally think it looks nice. I remember the games being a little brighter though, but I think it still suits the style of the old games.
There's still hope, Toys for Bob are the one making the Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy port to Switch, so it could be they're focusing first finishing the port, then this game, and then they can work on the Switch port.
Nerd impressions: Spyro's chest seems a little too big. He's supposed to be tinier, he's still a child Shaders are looking a little too intense. I liked Crash's shaders more as they were a lot more subtle, but there's a lot of vignetting and all these crazy sunsets Magic Crafters isn't teal enough. I want my teal back Animations like turning and whatnot look sick Color schemes in general seem to be off Is he going to have that face the whole time? Classic design, fuck yes

That looks so awesome. I wonder, will they tinker with the gameplay?
Oh fuck yes! Keep doing stuff like this Activision and I might not hate you for all eternity. Welp, time to dust off my PS3 and replay the spyro trilogy to hype myself up for this.
That's true for now but N-Sane trilogy ports for Switch and Steam weren't announced until some time after if I remember correctly.
No Steam logo, so kind of a strange situation with Crash coming to Switch and Steam. Hopefully Steam and Switch versions will come too.
Considering Crash and Spyro are both owned by Activision, assuming that the Reignited Trilogy sees the same numbers as Crash (which I don't doubt it will) Spyro will likely be coming to Steam and Switch sometime in the future.

I hope the old ost is a Higher quality one from the source.
I'm sure they'll be seeing Crash sales on the Switch and see how well it does, which I'm sure it'll be a huge success.
Im really glad that these kind of remakes are happening and not just 4k upscaled. With the console generations being kind of weird, and hopefully a pc release on horizon then these games can keep the original gameplay, but still appeal to new generations going through the gaming classics. Really excited for this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lgnV7YWySA Tom Kenny has returned as Spyro for all 3 games
So does that mean Tom Kenny's is gonna be in all three this time? Cool
Sweet jesus, hurry up and stop being a console exclusive already! I really hope it goes the way of Crash. Good lord this looks like a 1:1 replica with completely new graphics.
Spyro 2 was one of my favourite games on the PS1, so this could be really sick. From the tiny bit of footage in the trailer the movement looks a bit floaty. Hopefully it retains the sharp feeling controls and doesn't go for that floaty feel most modern games have now.
I'm fucking stoked This is my #1 childhood game to the point where I just don't shut up about Spyro when it comes to old games If they literally just dragged the soundtrack from the old games to the new one I would not be bothered. I just need my Copeland

I swear, they better have the option to play the original tracks. Midnight Mountain from Year of the Dragon has been burned into my brain and I don't want anything changing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbPmD45pXho
Actually I have to disagree with you, I think the new one sounds like it's doing a good job of visiting a new life. This is WAY better than the N. Sane Trilogy.
The main part of the song seems lost in the background, but at the same time it's nowhere near God awful. Main issue is its not Copeland, even if the second and third game had him co-write the music. His style is so distinct I don't think it would be possible to do a "HD" remake in his style anyway.
It might be a small nitpick but I find it really odd that they missed this: I don't like the animation when he flies. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109684/346776c1-1f52-4d08-bb7c-57b36358847d/glide2.png He's doesn't know how to fly, he can only glide. His PS1 animation shows that he doesn't know what he's doing, while the remastered looks like he's in complete control. The difference is more striking when animated, but you can see the way he's stretching his legs in the PS1 pic while they are relaxed in the remastered. It's even the cover art of the Japanese release. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109684/204dae0a-dd8d-4ce6-9310-5a671be87e5a/jap.jpg

Yeah I noticed this once too. I think that's why it bothers me that his body is more akin to mature proportions. He looks a bit too much like a teenage dragon rather than a child. I think this was accented heavily by his total clumsiness in his animations. His head was much bigger than his body and his charge was really haphazard looking.
It's in there, but it's super low in the mix and I don't even think it comes in until about the 1:00 mark.
This mix is definitely flat. Copeland's (naturally) excellent percussion is replaced with a subdued shaker and bongos, and the melodies seem way too quiet. It's still an early mix though, so with any luck, that could all change.
