Isn't high treason an executable offense?
This sounds really big, but I can't imagine anything happening about it.
Bet you this is all that would happen https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/106986/136bc62d-06a0-4f30-854e-e77109ea916c/image.png
I know we live in a dystopia where the bad guy always wins and the rich and powerful never face consequences for their shit, but let me dream :c
I think full-on death penalty only really gets applied if said actions were made during war-time though. Like, acting in favor of whomever our enemy is. Otherwise typically, you just get a prison sentence.
was going to make a phillip k dick joke but its too depressing
How would this be treason?
Presumably because Viktor Janukovytj is much better friends with Russia compared Yulia Tymoshenko, his rival in the presidential election that he ended up winning. Tymoshenko wanted to increase Ukraine's integration with EU and work towards NATO membership.
That doesn't make any of this treason.
What would it be if Obama did it
This post makes absolutely zero sense. Whatsoever.
We’re kind of in the Post Making-Sense era, if the former reality TV star being our President didn’t already make that evident.
If you don't think the right wing media would bring hell down upon the Obama administration for this kind of action, you'd be deluded.
Yes it does People would of gunned for Obama's impeachment had he been doing this shit
Sure they would have but that doesn't make it treason, nor this. Pundits aren't judges. We keep retreading the treason ground but every time it comes down to america not being in an active war with Russia.
I never implied it was treason, or wasn't. But I do not understand how you justify election meddling, or propaganda, or black ops without some really great reasons which I haven't heard yet. May not be treason, but is it legal either? Should it be?
Misread "What would it be if Obama did it " as "It would be if Obama did it"
I never said they wouldn't. I said it wasn't treason. I don't know where you are getting this argument from. Trump didn't do this, and it's kind of hard to impeach someone who isn't the president. But if he was associated with someone who did something like this, yes there would be calls for impeachment. But once again, that has NOTHING to do with anything I've said. Then why and who are you responding to? I never justified election meddling in here.
