I ran 8 miles earlier at a 9:45mile pace Post your runs here
No, and bad. I did a 5k a few years back and was gassed halfway because I can't pace myself at all. Luckily I play hockey now I just have to skate my ass off for like a minute and a half shift at most then head back to the bench.
Yes. Once qualified for an inter-school cross country run. Didn't go though, because I couldn't be bothered. I'm not as good these days but I still run for exercise. I'm a decently competent middle distance runner.
Not right now due to a foot injury, which is healing very good. I do plan to start again soon when the doctor allows is. I'm still a beginner so I'm okay-ish at best
I started a month ago. My record is 4.5km at 8:30/km. I'm really enjoying it so far, partly because I got a few friends to run with me and partly because I don't really do much sports and want to get fitter. The plan is to hit 10km in time for a running event in June.
The greatest running feat I have achieved was when I ran a 49.1s 400m back in high school My middle to long distance running though is absolutely atrocious though comparatively speaking
I can run about 10 seconds before I collapse
Can only run for about 10 minutes before it fucks my right knee, Elliptical trainers are basically my go to for any carido now.
I'm going to start again, but I need the right shoes. Ideally I would start running barefoot again, that really helped me with coordination, speed, injury prevention, ect. Plus it made my calves look swole as hell.
I really dislike running, but I've done some tread milling as warm-up for workouts over the past year (okay less the last few months). Got to ~3:55 per km on a 3km run. Best longer run I've done (fairly) recently is 10km in 55 minutes, though that's like a pretty long while back. Doubt I've gotten worse, though, I wasn't exactly doing daily strenuous exercise back then. Not that I am now.
As a sidenote, I'm pretty good at sprinting. I would love to run a sub 11 second 100m at my bodyweight, but it's not happening at the moment
I run to my car sometimes
I like to get high and run if possible, also biking fried is fun too. also I can bet no one can beat one of my greatest all time feats. At the peak of my bloatmaxxxxing I was around 250-260 @ 5'11.5, and I was forced to a run a mile on a sunday morning at 5:30AM after a hard night of chain smoking and binge drinking. I ran that mile in under 7 minutes, hadn't run a mile for years prior
Whenever I was in top shape for cross country I would do miles in about 5:30, so I WAS more or less mediocre. Now I just walk for a minute, sprint until I can't , walk for 2 minutes and rinse/repeat. It helps maintaining weight though as in cross country I was so lean I would weigh like 130 while now I am sitting around 170. Running to improve is all about proper routine (which includes rest days or alternating muscle focus) and actively taking part in reducing your time. So if I ran a consistent 5:40 every mile for 4 days (this includes the off days) I would then make an attempt to lower it further setting the bar for 5:35. Also chocolate milk and noodles. These are what you need.
I haven't timed my miles since high school (fastest I got up to was 6:50 I think) but I still go on runs occasionally to keep in shape.
I run from my emotional problems
I like thinking about going for runs, but I hate sweating outside/in public and I especially hate running when it's hot outside (summer), or when I have too much clothing on (winter).
Ran a 10K last year, though in very optimal conditions and wasn't running the whole way through. Probably doing it again this June but idgaf about actually trying my best lol.
I've been running ~5 days a week for the past three years, it's pretty much my only form of exercise. Today's run was 4 miles around town and my watch says it took 30:14. Back in November I ran a half-marathon in 1:38:01(7:30 per mile) and I'm pretty damn proud of that.
I used to feel this way but you realize pretty quickly that 1) its virtually impossible to tell someone is sweating from any kind of distance and 2) someone being super sweaty while running is totally normal. That's how I got over any feelings of anxiety I had.
I just ran 14 miles in a 9:59 pace. I don't know what happened, if it was the sweat or my compression shorts but my balls are really sore, like they've been grazed right underneath fuck
I started running daily coz I hadn't done any cardio for a long time and only did lifting. I'm pretty shit tho, but I don't really mind. Just wanna be more fit cardiovascular wise
I love running but by no means consider myself a professional like those who get up at 6am to run before work. I'm just average I guess, i run 3 miles when possible between work and the occasional 10k. 46 minutes is my best time for 10k.
I wish I had the discipline to wake up early and run, I just have a pretty awful habit of going to bed around 1am. Instead I just run between the hours of 3pm and 9pm every day, timing isn't consistent but the workouts are and that's enough effort for me.
I'm trying to hit 2.5km in 10 mins, but best so far this year is 11m30. Really not sure what I'm doing wrong since I run every other day and it's barely improving. Get some running kit. I hate sweat on clothes and whatnot but the kits tend to take the sweat off of you and reduce the wet feeling due to the materials and that they won't slap your body juice on your skin consistently - it's gross af. I feel they tend to slightly regulate the temps too (warmer in the cold, cooler in the heat). IDK man it's super hard to kick off but once you get a routine going you start craving for it naturally - like your body needs the exercise.
I'm out of shape with a defective leg, it works fine but the hernia in my muscle worries me even though the surgeon said it's fine if it's not painful. Still, seeing it bulge when I run disturbs me, so I keep running to a minimum and only run when I need to get somewhere fast on short notice. It's a shame, running's pretty fun.
I started hiking and stuff recently. But I can't start running cause I don't have anything that qualifies as a running shoe. I'm thinking of getting a pair of Vibrams because I really want stronger ankles/calves for a variety of reasons
My best 3 mile run was 21:12. Hip problems keep me from doing a lot of hardcore running but I can still manage 3 miles in under 25.
Youve got it man. I pretend David Attenborough is narrating my entire run, since I live next to a national park and run throiugh it on the reg.
Hey guys Just back from a half marathon Did 13.1 miles in 1:57 (8:40ish a mile) Pics to follow maybe
