Not exactly sure how to best utilize the extra space the subforum provides, but it seems like a good opportunity to highlight some games people might have missed out on in the megathread.
Crisis on the Planet of the Apes is a really polished and engaging, albeit short, VR experience. Probably not for those looking to add a super replayable game to their library, but definitely for those who are looking to be immersed in a way only VR can provide, and moreso for any fans of the movies.
The apes and game in general look great, the emphasis on climbing just makes sense and I found the story super engaging. You spend a lot of the game sneaking about and climbing over shit while feeling super vulnerable to all the humans with guns. You know you get a ridiculous ape shooty segments though.

Good half an hour of gameplay here if you'd want to get an idea of how the game plays. My only complaints would be the janky locomotion system, but with how scenes play out it's usually not that bad.
So, anyone else pick this up? All these movie tie-in VR experiences initially seemed really odd to me, but this one is definitely a step above the rest in terms of polish. Makes me think there's some real promise to promoting movies and expanding their cinematic universe through VR experiences, though part of me still wonders how this trend caught on in the first place.
I remember seeing this on the store and thinking it looked surprisingly decent for a tie-in game. Not sure if it's worth the price though.
I'd go for it, but the locomotion just really turns me off. It was kinda the same with GORN VR.
I gotta personally pitch for it being worth the price, @Lolnoob1 but I ultimately consider $10~ a decent cost for even an hour or two of high-quality VR experience. Above all I'm just surprised with the quality for a tie-in movie title.
And as a side note, @DevulTj , you gotta persist through the locomotion system for GORN. You get a hang of it eventually and as I'm sure everyone has told you already, it's definitely worth it.
I bought it and thus far it's a fun experience, albeit repetitive and a bit tough on the fingers.
Having to hold down the trigger for everything is weird and not very pleasant. It takes a bit to get used to the fact the trigger holds the guns while the touchpad fires them.
And speaking of guns, I'm not particularly fond of how the game drops two guns on you as quickly as it does and gives you basically unlimited supplies of ammo. I thought there was plenty of atmosphere for a while but the sheer amount of firepower you're given is rather odd. I wish fewer VR games would try to center themselves around firearms so much when there's much more interesting things to bring.
I had exactly the same thoughts. The game was at it's peak when you were crawling around pipes n' shit. It feels like the best parts of the game paused for the shooty bits.
