Pinterest Re:makes This is for all you artistic/bored puncherians out there that have no projects going on. Website: http://www.pinterest.com Can I remake anything?: Yes! You can make a recipe, picture, outfit, etc. Virtually anything (Comply with forum rules though.. Make sure you post the original photo/link and yours with it. Theres no deadline, so dont rush or worry. It doesnt have to be perfect either. Be creative and have fun!
What are we meant to remake, and why?
anything really. Could be a recipe, art, some clothes. You can pick anything from a pin and recreate it and post it with the original photo or link. I just wanted to make this for artistic bored people who want to be inspired
Inspiration is good and noble but isn't what Pinterest does just encourage straight up copying? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1335/db7d90ec-a6a9-4131-98c3-7b3753098b60/capture_pinterest.PNG As an artist I'm not sure how I feel about it
I don't think its a bad thing for getting some practice in. If you are linking to the original idea you aren't claiming it as your own.
Pessimistic crowd :\
I've never used it just because it requires an account to do anything.
Dude it's just a website with pictures, chill
Well, not if youre just browsing. You can easily type in google, "thing" and it will take you to a link/page of a bunch of things without having to have an account. It will only prohibit you from 'pinning' the item. I dont know why I thought anyone would want to do this :\ Im kind of disappointed
If you scroll down it soon goes "Hey, if you wanna see more, you should join Pinterest ;)"
its okay
Bit more on the topic; I like Pinterest a lot, since it's an excellent site for finding out inspiration from. I got a school assignment for making a coat rack, and I found this design through Pinterest: https://i.imgur.com/ywtR5bl.png I don't have photos of the coat rack in its finished form, but it looks a lot like this, maybe a bit more gold/amber in tone and it has smoother edges (which makes it look too 'round', I should've left them to be more angular). I wouldn't have been able to come up with this sort of design myself, so it was a nice find. I'll go back to school in autumn which is when I can take photos of it, though until then my word is all I can give
Thats awesome. I am planning on designing this wood table for my boyfriends mom. She really wants a beach themed home and I thought this would be really nice for her on her porch. She is disabled and loves sitting outside.. I just need help putting the table together and then ill paint it https://78.media.tumblr.com/c472c2e6cb3e078110bee8875da2f92e/tumblr_p71l4qSs0U1qzw91io1_500.jpg but maybe have it designed to look line a hinge table , like this: https://i.pinimg.com/564x/0d/1b/d0/0d1bd07115f7d81ee8786ccebf3738f7.jpg
I like pinterest because after digging through garbage on devianart for so long it was refreshing to search for art and actually get good results. It does a good job showing you similar posts as well so you can easily get lost scrolling for a long time. It has some annoyances like showing me a pin but not letting me save it because it might lead to mature content (???) but I agree, its good for inspiration.
