• CONTRA'S TIPS AND TRICKS FOR SUFFERING AS THE SPY CLASS

I will add actual tips and tricks and tutorials here, but for now I'm just making this thread before Mort does. Killing General Chat is still a really dumb idea, by the way.

Why is the Spy, who is skilled, professional, and sane, working with the rest of the TF2 mercs?
scout is his bastard idiot lead poisoned man child
Yeah I guess Spy could be there to protect him.
The ambassador was an overpowered weapon that allowed spy to do slightly more damage than he normally does and that is unacceptable.
Yeah spy is hard... Can you guys look at my loadout and tell me what I'm doing wrong? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/249153/4224bddf-0888-4f95-b7e0-0334815137e2/0FRgGtPa.png
You're relying too much on disguises, obviously. Equip Dead Ringer, decloak and shoot at people, then blame your teammates when you die.
Guys how do claim assassins cred knife
When the Spy's speed was increased to match the Medic's, does his run animation play faster too?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dkh_hgyuiAY I made this some time ago now (and it's more about comp spy than pub spy), but the advice is generally applicable. Forgive the low audio quality, this was more of a pilot for the idea than anything else.
I know you mentioned the audio being bad, but there's also various things that make it pretty eeeeh: Audio mixing isn't really good, not just the audio itself. You usually want to balance audio channels (voice, music, gameplay) in a way that make sense and makes it enjoyable to listen, usually normalizing the one that's supposed to be the most clear to listen to. I can see gameplay is muted because you probably recorded comms alongside it, but people like to listen to TF2 sounds themselves because there's something inherently pleasant about hearing a medic dropping uber or a backstab sound. If you can, try to record a demo of your match and sync it to the visuals so sound effects match, which let's people know what kind of sound feedback Spies use and act upon, or let people listen to gameplay and your comms so they know how a Spy communicates and avoids you the headache of the first option. Try to avoid music with lyrics. At around 1:55 it was a bit difficult to understand you because of the robotic voice of the music, so try to use instrumental songs. White text on light-colored skyboxes and walls is almost unreadable in some parts of the video. The text is also way too big and hides a 25% of the gameplay alone. Try to have white text with a black border at least, and make text smaller. I know your intention on making text bigger was to make it readable, but you don't need it to be that big as long as it's clear to see. For your microphone, try to buy a pop filter. Even the cheap ones can be pretty good and improve audio quality. In order to remove background noise from your microphone entirely, download Audacity (it's free!) and learn how to do noise removal with it, which is simple enough to do and makes it sound more professional. I hope this helps you if you keep making these.
