• Stan Lee's Stolen Blood Reportedly Used to Make Special Pens to Sign Comic Books

https://www.cbr.com/stan-lee-stolen-blood-comics/ This story has been going on for a while now, his longtime caretaker was fired and third parties began swarming him, stealing his money and now using old documents to steal his blood, to make DNA pens to sell signed comic books. I was hoping some bigger publications would pick up on this story, but it seems to just be smaller publications and comic book centered websites.
What the fuck ?
Gonna have to agree. Why the fuck would you do that?
The whole signed with his blood thing is creepy as fuck.
I question of this is even a real story
I'm assuming its more to contaminate the ink in the pen with his DNA and therefore appear to be a legitimate signature in some way, and less actually his blood being used to sign the book. No idea if anyone is actually DNA testing comic books though so.
Maybe you're right however it doesn't make it less creepy for me.
Anyone who would want to have their shit signed by this guys blood, by someone who is not him- Is fucking suspect imo.
Wouldn't that be verified by handwriting analysis and not DNA testing? Besides, it's just hard to believe you can verify a signature by DNA. It's not like your DNA ends up in the ink right away.
It would end up on the area around where you signed the book, though. I seriously doubt that anyone has ever DNA tested a comic book however, and ink is probably one of the less effective methods of getting the DNA on there in the first place. I just can't actually see someone wanting a comic book signed in blood. Seems too, well, comic book villain.
"Is this signature authentic?" "Let me just DNA test that for you." Sounds like the plot of a decent sci-fi film.
Leave blood and comic books to KISS
Even though in this case it was a shitty unconsented usage of Lee's blood, it would be totally badass to receive a signed copy of some artist's shit like a Rammstein vinyl cover with their signatures in each other's blood (cause let's be real that's a totally Ram thing to do).
Sounds like a Bladerunner universe short-story.
It could be worse. Everytime I see an article with Stan's photo as the headliner, I'm expecting to hear he died. Still people should stop being shits.
"Let me call in a robo-expert." I'd watch it.
I hear if you wait until Stan dies, and draw a pentagram with his blood on the front of an Amazing Spider-Man #1, you've just ruined a very valuable collector's item.
what
Well, as Gaiman put it. https://twitter.com/neilhimself/status/982153569901076482
Jesus comic fans creep me out. It's one thing to like a comic and to like the dude that made your favorites, but it's another thing to steal the fucking guy's blood and sign shit with it. Leave Stan Lee alone, dude is just an old man he doesn't deserve this psycho shit.
he will outlive all of us
