U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday the United States has already lost any trade war, as he defended his proposed tariffs against Chinese goods, saying the move might cause “a little pain” but the United States will be better off in the long run.
“We’ve already lost the trade war. We don’t have a trade war, we’ve lost the trade war,” Trump said in a radio interview with New York radio show, 77 WABC’s “Bernie & Sid.”
“I’m not saying there won’t be a little pain, but the market has gone up 40 percent, 42 percent so we might lose a little bit of it. But we’re going to have a much stronger country when we’re finished.
“So we may take a hit and you know what, ultimately we’re going to be much stronger for it,” Trump said.
Pasted the whole article because it's very short and just a restatement of his comments on 77 WABC, but to put my reaction simply: lmao
Trade disruption in USA and(from brexit) the UK. Who benefits from this bullshit
Real people will lose jobs and struggle to pay bills from this
“I’m not saying there won’t be a little pain, but the market has gone up 40 percent, 42 percent so we might lose a little bit of it. But we’re going to have a much stronger country when we’re finished.
“So we may take a hit and you know what, ultimately we’re going to be much stronger for it,” Trump said.
That must be after his ass is out of office and the next guy cleans up after him
"Don't worry guys, we're just gonna have a little trade war with China, then everything will be better in the long run."
"Woah woah what the hell do you mean we're down 500 billion? What the fuck do you mean 'oh man we're gonna be poor'?"
Why am I not surprised in the slightest?
Anybody who hates the western world, for one.
So this guy was supposed to know how to make deals right? Like, that was one of his "positives" that people would say about him right? "He's a business man, he knows how to make deals."
Admitting defeat to the whole fucking world doesn't seem like a sound deal-making strategy to me.
Knowing how Trump's announcements like these end up affecting the market(and how they somehow always end up benefitting his friends), I'm really curious what markets are gonna plummet just from this announcement.
So, by saying “we lost the trade war”, he’s actually admitting this was a trade war.
Also, gg Trump, add this to the growing list of your accomplishments, you troglodyte.
So let me get my TrumpLogic(R) straight.
(1) Trade wars are easy to win.
(2) The trade war was fought many years ago by other people and lost then.
(3) When you've already lost (500 billion down), you can't lose.
(4) We don't currently have a trade war.
(5) We might lose a little of the economy.
(6) Our country is going to be stronger by the end of this.
So to summarize: The only trade war was fought by other people and lost by 500 billion which means we can't lose the trade war we're not in. If we were in a trade war it'd be easy to win but we might lose some of our economy. If we simply stop trading with other countries, we win big, because I guess they have to trade with us.
Analysis: This idiot has no fucking clue what he's talking about and is going to shit all over our economy while yelling 'BELIIEVVVE MEEEE' that there's a 'pot of gold' at the end of all this. It sure seems like there's nothing but a pot of shit waiting at the end of all this that he'll refuse to admit is shit and will just claim 'nah, this is the other guy's shit'.
also today, there is no trade war, trade war isn't the objective
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/06/mnuchin-said-he-is-in-communication-with-china-about-tariffs-objective-is-not-a-trade-war.html
this administration really gets its messages straight
"We might have suffered gunshots, but the objective is for us to run through no man's land unharmed. Also, we are not presently being shot at - being shot at is merely a possibility."
In 40 years this is going to be hilarious to rewatch if the world still exists as more than a burning pile of ashes.
So he's going on record stating that he will be the reason why the market is going to be fucked for a while. Man I can't believe that Obama could sabotage the market like that to make Trump look bad
It'll be some shit like 'I inherited the weak trade policies of Obama, that's what you're seeing in the market.' because all he has is gaslighting and refusing to admit that anything he does is his fault.

lol yeah sure okay whatever you say m8
I think I understand why his spokesperson just up and said "Y'know what, I give up, I can't speak for this clown"...
just another day of trump completely OWNING those libcucks by continuing to apply no logic or reason behind his actions
When you don't suffer the consequences of your actions, you never technically lose.
It's just going to be everyone who's going to have a really shitty time.
If they are easy to win, they are easy to also lose.
Well, that was fast.
Yeah, great, just turn the US that's known for not staying true to its' word, just like you, you fucking twat
To be fair, I'm surprised he actually admitted defeat.
I feel like I'm tied to a group of people who, after stubbornly insisting they were capable of flight, are now angry and confused that they're continuing to descend after leaping from a cliff
it's a really weird combination of bitterness, fear, and schadenfreude
America allready has a huge debt to china.
specifically the chrysler building
Usually I can kind of understand what he's trying to get at even if his sentences are totally broken, but I have no clue here.
Ah so we've gone from "Theirs not going to be a trade war we're just negotiating" to "We've been in trade war and we've already lost"
I did my best and really gave it a good think. Even tried to look at it in context with his other statements on the matter. He's basically babbling like a kid whose hand got caught in the cookie jar who's now stating 'it was my brother who stole the cookies and my hand isn't in this jar'.
How is this man rich? He's the worst fucking negotiator in the political sphere, how is he not perpetually in deb- or right russian money laundering.
When you inherit money, you can just pay other people to manage your fortune for you
he declared bankruptcy multiple times, didn't he?
I'm pretty sure that was to restructure businesses, but I could be wrong on that.
Yeah but he's rich at this moment.
