The title of the article is not a satire believe it or not.
i don't want to believe you
You'd think BP would've learned about being cartoonishly evil by now but guess not
I want to know what they've been smoking because its quite clearly thrown all their logic out of the window.
What is this surreal shit? Captain planet villains had more tact than this.
Six years in between Horizon and this paper, Jesus fuck they're dumb.
Oh, pardon me. Did we say 'We're sorry?' What we meant was "You should be thanking us."
Oil, probably.
Corporate interests go no further than the shareholders and stakeholders.
"we're sorry!"
I live on the GUlf Coast and I can tell you this is not far from the truth, selfish home/business owners would readily await their next big fat recovery check.
"it's good for the economy" - shitty excuse that sadly too many people believe. By that logic genocide is good for the economy because you use up ordnance and hire soldiers and also free job positions. It's like that one woman who goes on vacation with her politician husband, using a jet paid for with taxpayer money and then says it's okay because she buys vanity items from Gucci during their trips. I'm sick of this apathetic, responsibility-shirking bullshit. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Of course problems are going to exist and mistakes and accidents are going to happen but you don't follow it up with "uh, actually we did a good thing". The worst part about this is that people are probably not even gonna bat an eye at this, everyone's just gonna waggle their fingers and go back to watching courtroom dramas on Fox while the wildlife is getting poisoned en masse.
use up ordnance and free up job positions
Fuck's sake, sounds almost literally like the plot for The Purge...
Lol this is like a fucking children's movie villain that you'd call too unrealistic
This is like saying 9/11 is good because it helps civil contractors and everyone involved in rebuilding.
Corporate goons really do live in an entirely different world to the rest of us.
I mean, yeah sure. It probably is a boost to the local economy. But that's like saying burning down your house will get you that brand new television you wanted. I think we're passing the point where Money and being evil in the pursuit of money is the norm and acceptable now because the people in charge have so much, what you going to do about it? Nothing. You're going to sit there, and be a good little debt slave, unable to do anything for fear of losing your little job they give you their scraps to work
