Russia is hit too.

so is this some random guy abusing abusable cisco switches, or do we have another stuxnet on our hands?
And right after Trump verbally attacked Iran and Russia in a tweet...
It could be Russians posing as Americans posing as Russians posting as Americans
"Don't mess with our elections" sounds like it was directed only at Russia, Iran just got caught in the fire.
On the one hand, it's incredibly easy for any hacker to put in whatever flag they would want, regardless of their origin.
On the other hand, I wouldn't put it past some dumbshit hackers from America to do this AND put some indicator of who to blame on it out of some mis-guided sense of "patriotism".
Meh they would of just bricked the routers and switches if it was U.S sanctioned as they wouldn't admit tampering. Probably some neckbeard that vists the_d and /pol/ too much.
on the one hand I would find it hard to believe our CIA/NSA would put something as obvious saying "HERE WE ARE WE DONE THIS" in the virus, but then that's exactly what someone as single minded and simple minded as Trump would demand done.
I mean it's pretty obvious that this is the work of some lone and pissed-off individual with a political motivation. It's not like there's much of a motivation for the US government to do this and the attack itself is so ridiculously simplistic that trying to portray it as being backed by the US government would be sort've ridiculous. It's not a stuxnet, it's petty vandalism.
