I've had my rift about 6 months and I've only just started having this problem, I've never taken the headphones off, and suddenly the sound stops working in my left ear, If I wiggled or bent the headphone the sound would return, and sometimes I'd get it right, but I couldn't get it to stay on for long.
I ended up taking the earpiece off and blowing the contacts and that seemed to fix it, but it seems it's suddenly starting again. Has this happened to anyone else? I have no idea what the cause of this could be
Extremely common issue. The cable inside is fucked. Send it to Oculus.
Well shit. I may aswell ask oculus about the screen burn too then and send it back for both. I've left in a room and it has absolutely never been exposed to direct sunlight, however the amibent light has been enough to burn in the display, with there now being a pink splodge on only one eye
they'll replace the replace the entire thing because of the headset issue so don't worry about the screen burn.
Ah, shoild I mention the screen burn in the support message then?
personally I wouldn't
Does oculus usually send brand new rifts or are they usually refurbs? I prefer a new one if possible. going to be sending mine out today.
They'll probably be refurbs. I managed to fix this just by tightening the screw all the way in, beyond what it was when it came
pretty sure they're refurbs
