"taking another game that was popular and just remaking it, but worse, didnt work, what do we do now!?" "i have just the idea"
I know that the MTV Generation 80s/90s asthethic is what they're going for, but man does it try way too hard.
It looks like utter trash.
I'm very rapidly getting tired of this aesthetic. Feels like everybody and their mom is trying to do some 80s/90s thing these days.
I really don't understand why fledgling companies think they can successfully compete with top industry developers in an oversaturated market I thought Lawbreakers was just bad timing but looks like they haven't learned a thing from it
Wow, that looks dull as fuck.
There isnt even a rocket sprite at 1:52

got this in my sub https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHL84qUKcW0 you have to be kidding me
lol theyre actually fucking trying to compete with fortnite, a game that runs on phones, with specs like that?
Lolkork why would anyone play this over fortnite Why would anyone play this over being stabbed in the foot, lets be honest
I love the 80s-90s neon style but they managed to even make that soulless. Just like Lawbreakers it just feels.. uninspired and lifeless. Good job on another slam dunk, into the garbage bin.
this game is the absolute epitome of big woop is cliffy going to claim this one will be a multi billion dollar franchise like lawbreakers, or is he keeping his mouth shut because he can see the writing on the wall already
this isn't even really neon, it's just lazy texture work
i thought we already had one semi-AAA company that just did anything that was currently a gaming fad in the form of Hi-Rez, now we have two: fucking great
you know the guy who made a bunch of good atari games and then the infamous ET game that ruined it all, he kinda left the industry afterwards and got a psychology degree and now he's a silicon valley therapist and enjoying life? probably time for Cliffy to make like that
i mean say what you want about lawbreakers' art style, at least it looked like a game from 2017. this looks like fucking Saints Row 2
This... looks like an asset flip
I'd change therapists if Cliffy was mine...
"People weren't interested in our last game at all, this time we're gonna make them hate this one!"
Having fun. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/133959/3840ec55-8d94-41fc-a503-07a9fa6e908b/hf.PNG
This looks like a mediocre GTA mod at best.
This would be a good style if it wore it correctly this makes me hate it entirely though, fuck sake lol
I don't think Boss Key understands the concept of a saturated market. The persistent money system could have been interesting, if Hunt Showdown didn't already do something similar, and if it wasn't an obvious way to put p2w in there. also how the hell do you take one of the most not-bland aesthetics we've had in the US and make it look so awful
But were there any memorable games executing the style in its full glory? Obvious Hotline Miami and Blood Dragon are all that comes to mind.
I wonder how long this will live for before there's not enough players to run a single match.
The M16 at 2:03 uses the exact same sound effect as the M1911 in Rising Storm 2. Comparison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSmvF0_ICQM

That sound is also in CSGO and PUBG. It's from a seemingly pretty common sound pack.
