https://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/brexit-latest-banks-commit-frankfurt-germany-eu-london-goldman-sachs-a8294651.html Who could have known this could happen?????? Ironically peeps voting leave for Germany having too much power will have been instrumental in giving Germany even more power. Not like we needed the financial sector anyway, it only contributed £176bn to our economy - we're getting our fishing industry back!! https://v.wpimg.pl/NDEyNDcxJy1qNmFyU0g2d31OYS1NDz5qNRVhJUweYS41HClrUUB7cnZWOjEQExE0JAkRclNIYC41HCk=
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag1o3koTLWM Literally who didn't see this coming. London will collapse with with the money makers migrating to a place more lenient with trade. please, i beg of thee, give me one solid bloody good reason why we should still continue with this shitshow not you Boilrig, someone else
Being a Yank’, I’m not, like, the most knowledgeable guy when it comes to England and the whole Brexit thing, but this sounds like bad new bears and whoever’s driving the Brexit bus might want to pullover, fast.
what? do you hate democracy? THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN! We're having a hard brexit, leave tomorrow then get a deal afterwards, take back control!! WE're GETTING OUR COUNTRY BACK! WE'RE GETTING OUR BLUE PASSPORTS BACK! WE'RE GETTING OUR IDENTITY BACK!
Brexit is a lot like the movie Speed, except there isn't actually a bomb on board but some people believe there is.
Long Live the Empire eh Boilrig
Of fuck oh fuck we're gonna be poor
Hell yeah. Who needs banks when we have an industry that generates a whopping 0.05% of our GDP? Suck it, Remoaners!
Uh, yeah, about the fishing industry thing... I have bad news and bad news....
Romney flashbacks.
I don't see where it says they are moving their entire bank or even a majority, or even a large chunk. I'd be more interested on why that isn't the case.
Wouldn't hurt for you to read the article and actually take the information given to you and try and absorb that. Otherwise you're just doing what you always do. Ignoring experts to insist you're the actual expert with no data, or credentials.
Hmm, yes, I've reread it, and I still don't see where an entire bank is moving. If people are hoping Frankfurt is going to be the financial capital or something, I would not hold one's breath.
Okay, so first we need to clarify some terms, and you should clarify your level of knowledge on the structure of financial institutions. What do you mean by "The whole bank"? No, the banking organization is not leaving the country. That is not the implication. There will still be banks of various different branches. But up to 60 different banking organizations of various sizes have looked into moving their headquarters to Frankfurt. So while you may be stating "THE WHOLE BANK ISN'T LEAVING", no one ever implied the whole bank was. They implied the leadership roles, and the powerhouse of the decision making processes will no longer be residing in London because that's what a HeadQuarters is. Germany already IS the financial capital of Europe. They are just getting the last vestiges that Britain held onto as a member of the EU. Without those trade deals, and economic partnerships in place, the large organizations are not seeking to leave the country entirely, they still want the british publics coin, but they will relocate the seat of power, which means in many practical ways London is no longer of concern to them. They will shape their new homes how they need to flow wealth how they see fit. No one has to hold their breath, they can already take another breath because your prediction came true some time ago. It isn't Frankfurt, but Germany as a whole that is the economic seat of power of the entire European region.
