It's very helpful to be able to pare down a quote from a large wall of text to the single sentence you're trying to reply to, or even just to bold the sentence in question. However currently trying to edit a quote in the WYSIWYG editor just causes it to delete. Can we get an update that lets us edit quotes?
honestly I just want this so I can quote people from another thread for when the need arises.
It's possible to copy a quote and paste into another reply if you put a line of text before the quote
didn't know that! thanks!
You can highlight part of a post and it'll only quote that part.
Either that or make the autominimization a bit more strict maybe.
holy shit, I didn't realise that, thanks for that!
Thanks, this is pretty serviceable for now. It's kinda unintuitive, so IMO it would still be nice to be able to edit the quote inside the editor, too. Or maybe a markdown editor? Hmmmmmmm????
so thats how everyones been doing it
Can't do that for posts in locked threads unfortunately
Fuck markdown. Also this is using Quill, there is no way to do manual tags.
best thing you could do instead is just using keyboard shortcuts to apply text formatting sure it's not the same as manually defining your markup, but it's a relatively similar flow
a moment of silence for our short-lived ability to pseudo-edit quotes by mix-and-matching from posts within a thread https://i.imgur.com/xMPlbTD.png lasted all of a day before being patched. RIP
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
