End of an era
Hope there's archival efforts like the lego web games.
Shoutouts to the immeasurable amounts of flash porn that will also die in 2020

rip meet n fuck
OH NO THE ZONE FLASHES
I wonder if the bajillions of versions that were on that paywall site were ever properly leaked?
Is the audio panned too far right or is that just me
I have my own mini-archive of flashes. They range from "4chan shit" tier to "Wow this is legit art" tier. It's always fun to go back and see what the internet was doing at the time. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132660/4e05d80e-4054-4c22-9c9e-35866846b000/Flashes.PNG
WAIT DOES THIS MEAN THAT WE'RE GOING TO LOSE THE AMBITION SERIES?
Hi there fucknuts! https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/208785/663ab158-b965-4bc4-80e7-dd5be5c24805/download.jpg
Flash will no longer run in browsers around July 2019 unless you run an extended release version like Firefox ESR, which will continue to support it until 2020. Right now my University is struggling to convert a lot of flash based content over to other platforms, and shit like Adobe Presenter makes this difficult if you don't have the source files anymore. Flash educational interactive content or games are basically being removed from courses since we can't convert them without the .flv file. However, Flash being removed from browsers doesn't mean Flash content is lost forever, you can simply download the .swf file for a flash game and play it locally through your computer. Irfanview can play Flash content out of the box I think. Adobe AIR basically can package Flash content into binaries so games made in "Flash" aren't going away. If anything sites like Newgrounds will just have you download games and play them as an application rather than in your browser.
Madness Interactive and Sniper Assassin were my game in middle school! Man, I really want to play some flash games now..
did somebody say flash games? https://i.imgur.com/6r5WMjQ.png
The Newgrounds reviews will always be the best parts of those games (3:20) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5QfNv0lhvM
Even Homestar Runner is redoing their site right now.
Rip Sexy Lesbians . Cracked me up so much when I 1st watch it back in 2004. Volume warning.
don't shit your pants is probably the best game ever made
Games won't be really lost, just not playable outright in the browser like they used too (NPAPI is really garbage), the offline flash projector which is simply an executable will probably work just fine for good number of years after the last release in 2020 for both Windows and Linux.
I would never give up shitty flash games for the world.
Why not just open source Flash at this point?
Shared code between that and other projects. Open sourcing Flash isn't going to fix the fact that it's a security nightmare either.
Are HTML5 games a serious thing still?
Already taken care of, thanks to the biomedia project: Index of /bmp/files/gms/online Index of /bmp/files/LEGO/gms/online
Not sure, i remember the hype years ago when I could basically play flash-quality games native on my phone's browser without some crappy android Flash plugin.
Knew about that, I meant I hope there's archival efforts for other games in the same vein.
People make them but it doesn't seem like they've garnered as much of a community as Flash has. There's also the steam/mobile pulling devs away from just putting their work on websites for free. There's an HTML5 game (CrossCode) that I've been looking forward to for a while but it's being sold as a full-length game on steam.
