A thread for dicussing VR related accessories, I guess.
To start this off, I just receives this stand for my HMD:

The box says it's a Sparkfox universal VR stand, although it's probably a knockoff. You can find plenty of identical products on Amazon and AliExpress.
It's pretty sturdy, and fits my Lenovo Explorer easily. The large spool on the base is pretty useful for keeping the cable from trailing on the floor when I'm not using it.
just gonna put this one here
Vive
HOT! Controller Anti collision Elastic Protective Cover and Sili..
I have that exact same stand for my Vive, though I usually just leave my Vive in a VR carry bag because I'm paranoid about any nearby windows leaking sunlight in.
I highly recommend that VR carry bag if you move your VR headset around a lot. There's probably much cheaper alternatives, (got mine on the cheap, about half the price) but the actual case is very nice and keeps the headset safe. Warning to DAS owners though, with the strap the carry case will only fit the headset. You're able to pull out the velcro dividers and kind-of-customize the shape of the compartments. It's pretty tiny overall. But according to the store page it should fit the Rift/PSVR/Vive /w classic strap + all their cords and dangles just fine.
That seems incredibly useful. Unfortunately they don't make those for the WMR motion controllers yet.
I finally received the VR Cover I ordered for the Lenovo Explorer. I feels nice, nicer than the original foam cover the HMD comes with, and its also thinner which means my face is closer to the display.
I haven't had any issue with light leakage through the nose hole, and everything appears to be a little sharper with my eyes closer to the lenses. It's slightly less comfortable when I'm wearing glasses though. They seem to be right against the front of the headset now. Still works though.
As promised it comes with two VR covers and a microfiber cloth for wiping the lenses. The cloth is kinda stiff though.

I've bought the VR Cover Vive foam replacement and it's very nice, no cut-out grooves for glasses but it's not so bad. Along with it I got some silicone padding for the headset and motes, along with some lens protectors, like a film you put over the lenses to avoid scratches, it's nice so that I don't have to worry too much about nicking my glasses on them. Also bought a spare just in case.
Now all that's missing would be a headset stand, cause all it does now is rest on top of my desk.
If you happen to have a 3D printer, and you need a very simple way of setting up your sensors, check out this thing I made:
Oculus Rift Constellation Sensor Mount (No screws) by PaulTheSim..
Basically it's an extremely simple wall mount for the sensor that needs nothing more than a piece of strong double sided tape.
Go small so you don't accidentally cover half of the infrared LEDs in the headset.
Lmao I bought a pack of googly eyes from aliexpress the other day for this exact reason.
I printed myself one of these:

Vive Modular Gun Controller with Height Adjustable Stock by BMan..
It's damn nice to use in h3vr.
Every time I see a headset mount that leaves the lens up in the air exposed to dust and light I mentally prepare myself to not shake my screen screaming at it
please

do
this
Here's a somewhat unconventional accessory. If you're like me and sweat like a fuckin' pig, you may enjoy using something like this: A lycra balaclava. Seems to help keep sweat from soaking into my HMD's foam pads. Bonus feature, you look like a fucking maniac to anyone who tries to break into your house while you're using it.
that would also help with really curly hair tbh
I just got the Vive N Chill. It's pretty fucking nice. They're quite noisy on their own but I just noticed it less and less as I played.
I thought of something else for sure when I read that product name.
I've this recommended in a youtube video that for some reason went offline.
It had a few tips for Windows MR headsets specifically, including the suggestion to get a USB extension cable and use it to mount the PC's bluetooth dongle directly on the headset. This way the controllers never go out of reception range, which completely removes controller judder and controllers losing tracking completely in SteamVR (strangely it was never a problem in the Skyloft).
Another recommendation was to use a zip tie to keep the earphones socket cable from getting pulled all the way through the plastic loop holding together the headset wires so that it doesn't keep the visor from lifting or get torn out if you do lift it too hard.
Finally, I used another ziptie to pass all the cables around the forhead loop to the back to the head instead of falling off at the side, which is more convenient.
Works great so far.
