• GOP Congressman Rips Trump in Insane Tirade to Journo

This strange — but insane — tale begins with Erick Ericksonwandering the aisles of a Safeway supermarket. He’s accompanied by a Republican congressman who regularly appears on Fox News to defend President Donald Trump. “If we’re going to lose because of him, we might as well impeach the motherfucker,” the unnamed congressman told Erickson. That’s according to a new post from the conservative commentator, who wrote about his encounter with “[one] of the President’s congressional defenders” who “has privately decided he hates Trump and wants to unload.” “The congressman did not want to be seen with me on Capitol Hill,” Erickson explains. “He needed to get some stuff anyway and decided he’d let me walk with him through the cereal and dairy selections at the Safeway near my hotel.” Erickson continues: He is not happy with President Trump. He was never a die hard Trump supporter. He supported him in the general and never expected him to win. But he did. So the congressman, whose district Trump won, has been a regular supporter on Fox News and elsewhere defending the President. He is happy to be quoted, so long as I don’t name him. He says he just needs to vent. I suggest what we’re doing is one of the reason’s Trump won — a congressman says nice things in public and bad things in private. “Everybody does this shit,” the congressman said. “I read you writing about this, about wanting to say nice things when you can and criticize when you need to. He may be an idiot, but he’s still the President and leader of my party and he is capable of doing some things right,” he continued. “But dammit he’s taking us all down with him. We are well and truly fucked in November. Kevin [McCarthy] is already circling like a green fly circling shit trying to take Paul’s [Ryan] job because nobody thinks he’s sticking around for Nancy [Pelosi]. She’s going to f**k up the cafeteria again too. [Lord’s name in vain], at least I’ll probably lose too and won’t have to put up with that shit.” “He won’t lose,” Erickson notes. “His district is very Republican.” https://www.mediaite.com/online/gop-congressman-rips-trump-in-insane-tirade-to-journo-evil-really-fcking-stupid-forrest-gump/
" [Lord’s name in vain], at least I’ll probably lose too and won’t have to put up with that shit.” That's some censorship I've never seen before!
Honestly, the best thing the Republicans can do is impeach Trump now. If he finally throws the tantrum of a lifetime and fires Rosenstein/Mueller, then it's honestly game over for the Republican party. They will be held singly responsible for the mass protests and being known as the party complicit with making the decision that caused it. The blue wave will engulf them and they'll be back in obscurity; complaining, whining and obstructing except they can no longer do that, as they'll have no power whatsoever in decision making and Trump will be prisoner to a House that is diametrically opposed to him and any decision he will ever try to make for the rest of his presidency. How can a man, whose entire party controls the government, fuck up so hard and accomplish so little. Oh, I know, but being the world's biggest, unrepentant idiot.
I've had enough of this partisan bullshit. The only thing these people give a damn about is their party winning and the other losing. Doesn't matter what the fuck they're talking about, or what they believe, or what their constituents want, or even what's vaguely morally acceptable, just whatever it takes to "win". How about at least pretending you have a spine and taking a stance for literally any other reason than because of partisan warfare? Nothing good will ever happen in this country until everyone grows the fuck up and realizes politics aren't a game to win. Take your macho can't-lose-or-I'm-a-pussy bullshit to the football field or something.
That's part of the reason I'm thinking about getting into politics at some point. Too many of these people don't give a fuck about the good of America, they're only interested in the good of their coffers.
I reckon we'll hear more of this tone soon. Republicans that say they never liked Trump to begin with, that they had nothing to do with him, that they didn't know about the crimes and whatnot. Be prepared for it, many people will believe them.
There's one part of the routine that I do believe, and it's something I've heard several times. And it's the part about never liking Trump. It's an open secret that many Republicans in DC haaaaaaaaaaate Trump and what he's done to their party. They hate his fucking guts in private, and in public they're the loudest MAGA-hat-wearing asslickers you could find. And the reason why is, as stupid as he acts, Trump has stolen their party and their voters from them and they have to grin and pretend to be part of the team to avoid alienating their voters and prompting a radical Trumpist challenger to try and dethrone them for being insufficiently devoted to Trump. The number of retiring Republicans in the House this year is basically unprecedented, even taking into account the fact that the party of the incumbent president usually loses ground in the midterms. They want off Donnie Tee's Wild Ride, but they can't come out and say it out loud unless they want to burn all of their bridges with Trump voters. Anyone claiming they didn't know about or believe any of the credible evidence against Trump until suddenly right now, though, that gets suspect really fucking fast.
the bit about the cafateria made me chuckle, what did she put salads and kale on the menu in 2008? to my knowledge the congressional cafateria is a pretty luxurious lunch space staffed with very underpaid wage slaves who probably have to go through more metal detectors and security checks than an amazon worker
