Server CPU usage increase after recent patch (and lower fps).

I've been running a rust server for a few months. I have not changed any settings in around 2 months. Since after one of the recent patches (less than two weeks ago) the server has started using more CPU.
For me the rust server about doubled its CPU usage. It was at around 10% cpu usage before, and its now at around 20% continously.
Also since this change the "+fps.limit 120" does not seem to have the same effect. It's now stuck at around 80-90 fps where as before it was easily doing 120.
Has anyone else noticed any of this?
Also, if it matters. The server is a Xeon 6 core machine at 3Ghz with 32 GB of Ram and SSD Raid 10 disks, and thats been the same the whole time.
Ok, so this is even bigger issue than I realized. I have previously run events on the server and spawned in several npc's. No issues before.. Now the server comes crawling down in fps when adding just a few extra npcs.
I did an event about a month ago where I added around 100 murderers to an island and filled it with loot. The server never went above 30% load, fps never went below 115.
Same thing today, server was loading one of the cores to 90% and adding some minor load to a few other cores.. and running at 6 fps.
Seriously, if this monster of a machine is behaving like this something is seriously wrong, or I want to know what everyone else is running this on.

is your sollution, and do not add too much npc's, rust can barely run the vanilla included npc's.

That is not true, or well it wasent upp untill recently.
As I said in my post I have previously added several hundred npcs, animals, zombies, bears, etc and it barely made a dent in the fps of the server.
Something has changed.
