Me personally, I'd put 125k of into a savings account for travelling, as one of my biggest dreams is to travel around outside of west/east Europa. Have 300k for an apartment, car and other smart investments, keep 50k for Funbux™, and donate 25k to charity and fundraisers. $$$
I'd start a gofundme for a product of my own invention with a $450,000 goal, fund it entirely by myself, and use the resulting media attention as free advertising for the product.
New car, new computer, slightly bigger apartment. Then shove the rest into savings/long-term investments.
Pay off outstanding debts. Get some new furniture, fancy clothes, etc. Put $100k in the bank. Get a fancy designer/fad breed/whatever cat. Maybe take a vacation or something. Be incredibly miserable, as every single time we have ever been ahead financially I oddly felt depressed. Like it was not meant to be or that something bad was gonna happen.
Buy a house, my reasons are purely monetary though, I'd rather rent but it's pretty expensive vs buying. I would benefit from the low living costs, and going full-electric with solar panels would mean I'd have almost no utility bill(in a perfect scenario).
Get a house in Canada
Invest in bitcoin
Rebuild my home then save the rest.
Finish my house, buy a car, buy a new computer, pay off debts, and stick whatever is left in the bank.
Pay off my goddamn student loans, get a new goddamn computer, invest so I don't end up a goddamn pauper, and actually move out of this goddamn house.
pay student loans buy amazing PC parts buy a few books save save save
Index funds yo. Well, maybe get a decent computer, then index funds. I'd like to say I'd quit my job and find something closer to my family, but I don't think I can deal with searching for a job again.
Move countries, get my own place, better PC parts, something like that I guess.
Just wanna elaborate that I plan on living pretty basic too, just a bedroom/office with a small combined living room/kitchen if possible and a small-medium sized bath/washroom. A cheap but decent car with any necessary accessories for a comfortable ride, and pay down my debts as much as possible.
Put it away and let it collect interest, and hopefully in a couple of years i could afford a house.
Knowing that i would do stupid shit if i didn't, I think i'd do a detailed breakdown of my expenditures if i were to win a large sum of money Apartment (w/ fully functional kitchen, paid in full) - $179,900 Ikea Sofa Bed - $200 50" 1080p TV - $478 TV Bench - $300 4 chair table set - $220 Bedroom bed - $580 $50 cookware set - $50 Rubbermaid set - $20 Wardrobe allowance - $2000 50 piece cutlery set - $20 2 cookie sheets - $15 $50 worth of coat hangers - $50 Allowance for new computer - $1500 Celebratory meals - $100 Other - $400 The next Steam sale at the time of winning such cash sum: $200 This leaves $314267 left to savings
donate it all to hakurei shrine
Persuade garry to revert the forums back to Oldpunch.
I would most likely buy a nice apartment with most of the money, then i would get a Nissan Silvia S14 and then save the rest of the remaining money for when i need it in the future.
Buy a house nearby, pay up all my parents debts, get a good car. And of course stuff for the new house too. After all that i'd spent most anyways, i would just go back to working as usual but with a owned house and a car that doesn't break down every year. Very mundane and boring i know, but i rather take a normal life than spend money on vacations in exotic countries.
I'd buy a nice apartment, somewhere cozy and convenient. The rest would probably go to travelling and partying.
Help a friend get a new house, buy more clothes, go on holiday.
Buy cheap but respectable housing, nothing too fancy, but not complete and total shite either, invest a quarter of the money into a business venture, keep the rest as a backup.
Set up a wildlife shelter Then buy gold and bury it
Pay off debts Buy a bunch of really nice guns Set up a sustainable community somewhere and invest whatever's left over.
Buy a small house, really only something small that doesn't break the bank in monthly cost. Probably waste a good amount in PC parts and stuff for that new place. Donate a bunch to friends and small streamers I like to watch. Invest the rest so I don't have to worry later or at least for a good amount of time.
Spend it all on TF2 .
Tesla for me and my dog
Start a cat farm.
We should just rename this to the “Fuck Student Loans” thread Other than that, probably move somewhere nearby work.
