what if posts that get hundreds of funnies, good ideas, artistics, winners, informatives, etc would make the forum give the poster some coins?
it could reward good posting habits without relying on other users to give up some of their coins
Why?
People will give posts coins/diamonds if they think the posts are deserving of coins.
I think that's a good idea, given how easy it seems to be to earn a single coin I think it'd be cool to give a coin out for like 100 funnies or whatever.
That would just spawn a crapton of "coin farming" threads where people just all rate each other. Please no thanks.
That would just lead to people spamming pics in LMAO pics, zingers in SH threads, etc.
It would also lead to people getting coins for posting commonly agreeable positions (imagine a post getting lots of agrees just because someone wrote a commonly held opinion). Conversely, imagine a post getting coins for lots of Dumbs

Easy fix is to ban them in mass and clear all coins as punishment
Banning has worked so far, spam threads are deleted very fast
And then we crash the economy and seize the means of production.
letting positive ratings count towards coin progression might not be a terrible idea, maybe every time a unique post gets a new unique positive rating it's like 5% of the progression towards a coin.
like you get an agree and that's 5%, a funny and that's 5%, a winner and that's 5% etc. but no other ratings on that post count towards progress on your next coin. could still be exploited technically with an alt account and a lot of dedication but really its quicker to just click on every thread you see
This will create a lot of unnecessary work for mods. It can also be less obvious, like secret circlejerks off facepunch forums giving specific posts in random threads to like, etc.

I don't think having one character trait people rate me for would be fair to get coins from, I've just mastered posting something so absurd that it stands out a little better
Unique rating getting more coins would be the best way to do it, because it shows that they're actually dynamic with how they post well, they don't just have 1 gimmick and done
Yeah but then you'd still have rust kiddies paying people $10 to rate all of their posts agree or something
stop that happening the same way reddit does it. if they see an account rating too many posts from one user then ban it
what if each positive rating secretly donates 0.5% coin (zero sum) instead
Too many dumb ratings should make you lose coins!
