So I have an idea why not add a way to see your team mates on the default map? Like for example like 2 dots or something that shows the other player. How would you be able to see a friend? well Rust should have like a "Add A Friend" system I dunno seems like it would be an ok idea
But there is a point in enforcing better communication and understanding of your surroundings that is missed by basically cheating a meta system into a map
I love ideas like this. yea i think being able to add a friend would be great and would help a lot. I also think if you added one of your friends and i think you should be able to add a marker on the map and the can also see it? Maybe git rid of the grid. Just a thought.
i like the idea but its supposed to a survival game i thinsg the game is becoming to modern
you could create a craftable item called a "GPS" - and give it to your friends/teammates (they would have to AUth on it, like on a TC or on a door code). All GPS that are authed using the same "frequency" (same code - think like a code lock) - will show each other on the map. You now have a device that can track teammates (or any players you give them to) on the map. Beware if this device gets into the wrong hands!!! (yes - make it lootable by enemies!)
As the Rust io extension already does this to enable you to see your friends and monuments i dont think the devs would bother with it, you cannot see enemies or bases only those players that wish to share their position. And what is more modern than boats with outboard motors (and soon cars), electronic code locks, automatic weapons etc,
Lol it was added
Very true
In the game, this is already there. You need to enter the inventory and click on Create Team, add all friends. Friends should do the same. On the map of all will be seen.
You can add friends in steam and you can already see them with the group update. I never really agreed with the group thing but here it is, adding something else that does it's job easier just seems out of place.
