for some reason, i'm interally screaming "Give it to a fucking museum!!!" but a part of me already knows that almost every european museum has a dried up Ration from that time on display anyway!
He gives a lot to a ration museum, he also documents in detail for "MREInfo". Rations really need to be opened and experienced for their full effect and documentation though. So I have no problem with what he does.
Watched the video and his reaction at eating it.. just stop and record it. Like good job telling us about the metallic tast e and the cartillage. but fucking stop, deliberate and record the fucking experience?...
Which iguess he already sort of did. but the reality was that this was his only run around. Never getting back to that taste/experience... At least do it properly??? which i again you could ague he did by recording it. but part of me is stuck in WTF!?
You know it's good stuff when even Steve starts to retch at the smell
"It smells so foul!"
"NICE!"
it's almost comical when it's rancid meat in a can and he still says nice.
aw dude this shit's awful
nice!
"I didn't even get the sweats"
what the fuck
This dude probably has a strong enough of an immune system to become a space marine.
A great way to get botulism
He often buys two and gives one to a museum when hes able.
ashens, is that you?
Nice!
I think my favorite video of his is where he eats an rancid biscuit and after every bite he questions why he keeps eating it.
Doesn't botulism require moisture? Old canned fruits, honey, spam, jelly, vegetables, etc.
This stuff is dense, bone dry powdered meat, like a primitive protein bar. I don't think botulism can live in such a dry environment. Also note that heating the food up will destroy the toxin, he boiled the stuff for almost an hour (though he did taste it as is before that).
This wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Pretty crazy to think that this ration is so old nobody who would've carried or eaten it at the time is alive.
