Hey, fuzzy here, leader of the Passive Aggressive Pandas.
This game looks really promising and I had a few questions about it if anyone would mind answering them.
Are you able to set up a guild/clan and how will you be able to put a mark on the server that you're in? For example, I believe that Black dessert online has castles and countries which you can actually take over as a guild/clan.
(Would be nice, if NPC castles/cities were a thing, that you could take it over with your clan and hold it. This could give the players ruling over it maybe an extra benefit? For example the players of that can get acces to all rooms in the castle (then you could implement different types of runes for example alchemy/enchanting/dungeon/training room). Or the shops are cheaper, or they can implement taxes, etc.)
Combat system?
Always when I play MMORPG I struggle with it's combat system (to boring). I've seen the one you have now and it looks a bit like skyrim which is oke for me. Then again, the best time I had with combat systems was mount and blade games. Where you actually have to swing your mouse and your sword would follow.
Crafting and rare items?
Crafting is one of the hardest things to make original in MMORPG. Also, rare items. I don't know if anyone agrees with this but I don't call an item rare anymore when you can buy it (very expensive) on the players market. But then again, if only one player can find it it's no fun at all.
Also the thing I miss with crafting a lot is that players don't ask anyone else to make something for them. To make myself clear:
When I'm a blacksmith in a game, I don't have the feeling that I'm actually a blacksmith. There will be no one else who comes to me and asks me "Wow, can you make me that please?" because everyone can be a blacksmith or they just buy it. I don't know if you guys get this? To give another example from an anime: "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon?" Where player blacksmiths are necessary and where these players can create their specific kind of armor/weapons with their signature on it.
To make this short: Will you make it so that crafting actually becomes something unique, and that other players need good crafters to make stuff for them?

Not a dev but I do know some answers.
Regarding creating guilds, this is a known feature to be in the game. Creating guilds will help organise friends as well as make it easier for solos to find people to play with. NPC factions are also confirmed however it's not yet known whether your guild can take over a NPC faction's town.
Rare and unique items are planned for the game as well as rare and unique NPCs. It's not been revealed what makes these items rare other than that they're one of a kind.
The combat system so far for melee has blocking, parrying, attacking and shield bashing (this is all we've seen so far). The spell casting so far just looks like projectiles.
Again this is all just information gathered from the Ruin discord and may likely change.
