I have an addon which is 257 megabytes uncompressed. It compresses down to 106 megabytes and uploaded just fine a week ago. After tweaking some textures I tried to upload it again and now it fails at the compression step. I reverted the textures to their original state and tried to upload again and it still fails. Now, only if I remove a bunch of shit from it will it upload, but I do not want to have to start splitting everything up into multiple uploads. It was quite reasonable before.
Compression step has nothing to do with the limit. The program fails to get enough RAM from your PC to compress the file.
There's a fix for that around the forum somewhere.
Thanks - with that I was able to realize the problem and knew just what to do. I used this tool to set the large address aware flag on gmpublish.exe: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/ Thanks - might add this to the wiki?
Also, to possibly perplexed future readers: if you're using gmosh (UI tool), gmosh has its own gmpublish.exe. Use the tool on it instead of the one in garrysmod/bin.
You really shouldn't, or don't be surprised when your newly published addons don't load in game.
It should work without 3rd party programs after next update.
